The Ultimate Guide to Resumes {AOL Jobs}

Jan 27th 2011 10:29PM All that stuff above is bull_ _ _ _. Sorry! I have a phrase I share with anyone who is out of work and this is it... (If you are looking for a job you've got a problem, but if you look for a problem, you'll find a job!)

Think about that for a minute! I never have to concern myself with looking for a job because I'm a salesman! Salespeople always have work to do, and money to make! In SALES you write your own paycheck! Production without SALES equals scrap!!! Companies are always looking for good salespeople! But what most will say is... "I'm not a salesperson" And I would say to that... "That's why you're out of work! Be wise. Find out what the problems are where you want to work and go in with examples of how you will attack the problems, and you'll find all the work you want! Sell yourself!!! Not as a leech looking for someone to give you a job, but as a problem solver who has studied the company you are wanting to work with and can present potential solutions to CURRENT problems! Who really cares what you did in some other company 10 years ago? Who cares??? If it was that good, why aren't you still there? HOW CAN YOU HELP ME NOW!!! That's the question.

Beware Low-Ball Automated Insurance Payouts, Says Consumer Group {WalletPop}

Dec 10th 2010 5:59AM I have been a life insurance agent for over 30 years and a multi-line agent/manager for the last 15 of that 30. Even though I love how we serve the general public, I really don't like how insurance companies seem to generally lean toward not paying claims without a fight! This is not all companies however. Travelers is one of the best claims paying companies I've ever worked with, but many of them leave a lot to be desired. My suggestion is, don't be too quick to settle. Negotiate for what you consider to be a fair settlement. They don't really have the final say, you do. Be fair, but be firm. I don't like the idea that people are afraid to use their insurance for fear their rates will go up dramatically or they may even get cancelled. Adjusters being rude or not returning phone calls. Also, don't wait for your agent to call you to review your policies and make sure you're getting the best rates. You call your agent and request that review. Why, because there is absolutely no incentive what-so-ever for your agent to call you and lower your rates! think about it, if they lower your rates, it's money out of their pockets, plus they don't get paid for the time they spend lowering your rates! Agents are generally busy chasing new business and new commissions. There is nothing wrong with that, but don't expect to just GET good service. YOU make it happen by being proactive in you insurance management. For more tips on how to have an excellent insurance experience, or to ask an insurance question send me a message. hlindseyjr@aol.com I am a CLU, ChFC, RHU, REBC, AAPA, CSA, LUTCF.

Family Confirms Tabloid Reports That Aretha Franklin Is Suffering From Cancer {BV Newswire}

Dec 9th 2010 4:32AM I want to start by commenting on the question above. Do I think her illness should remain private? Absolutely not! Aretha is like a member of the family! We want to pray for her, send her messages of hope, keep up with her progress, show her love and respect! Love and touch her with our gifts the way she has loved and touched us with hers! We all know we must experience physical death one day, especially Aretha. She grew up in the Church, she knows! We Christians trust in God and accept His will in our lives. She may survive this, she may not. God is in control! My prayer for Aretha is this... Dear God, in the name of Jesus of Nazareth, with the leading and prompting of the precious Holy Spirit of God, please bless our precious sister in Christ, Aretha Franklin according to your perfect will and abundant riches in Glory! If she is to be healed and serve as a walking testimony on Earth to YOUR Glory so be it! If she is to be healed and walk with you IN Glory! So be it! Either way, You, our Father and our God are in control! Bless her Lord! Amen!

Troops Boo Kathy Griffin for Bristol Palin Fat Jokes {PopEater}

Dec 6th 2010 8:15PM Hey, she is kind of chunky! But I like the little butterball! I wouldn't kick her to the curb! All women aren't meant to be skin and bone! I tell you what.... Well, maybe I should stop!

Michael Vick's Career Day Spoils Donovan McNabb's Party {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Nov 16th 2010 8:02AM Michael Vic is an incredibly talented guy. We all know that. Michael Vic made a mistake. We all know that. The past cannot be relived for any of us, and we've all made mistakes along the way. All of us! Even those of you who can't seem to embrace forgiveness. I'm reminded of what Jesus said when he came upon the woman about to be stoned to death for her sexual sin. First he said "he who is without sin, cast the first stone." All the accusers had to walk away. Then he told her... "Get up, go, and don't sin no more."

Hopefully Michael has learned his lesson well. To do it again would be foolish. However, each of us should seach for forgiveness in our hearts. Mr. Vick has moved on and so should we! Let's enjoy some football!

Let's us all hope pray that we learn from our mistakes and that someone will show us a little mercy when do fall short, as we all do. God bless you all! Even the haters : - )

See the Video That Broke Up Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston {PopEater}

Oct 5th 2010 8:05AM I liked the video and the song! It might be a story line from the Palins, might not! I think Levi is a handsome guy, and the girl played a very sexy role! It's going to probably get a million hits! What's the problem???

Secret Regrets -- If You Could Do One Thing Over, What Would It Be? {Lemondrop}

Sep 14th 2010 10:27PM The regret concept fascinated me, that's why I read this. But it was so one dimentional! All the regrets were relationship in nature. Nothing else! Didn't anyone regret not writing the book they knew they had in them, or the poem. Didn't anyone regret not working harder in high school, or getting pregnant before marriage. The thing about these kind of regrets is that unless you're dead, you can still go do it! And going and doing it scares people to death! They would rather wallow in their regrets! To Hell with your regrets!!! Get up and go live! The things you think you regret, are just lessons, on life's incredible road to your fantastic future! Regrets! I don't regret nothing! If I keep pushing I know that what some would call stumbling blocks I'll use as stepping stones! Regrets? No way baby! Thank you Lady Ga Ga! Do it!

Drunken Baby Photos? Not So Funny {ParentDish}

Jul 16th 2010 6:34AM It's all about perspective. If the theme here was "Babies trying to stay awake after playing hard all day" We'd all be remembering when our children at one time or another looked just like some of those pictures. I find no humor in this at all. I especially do not like the inference of the combination of babies and alcohol. In the real world babies get abused. Can you imagine some copycat fool saying " you think THOSE babies look goofy, look at these!!!" The things people will do for attention is scary. Pleaes do not point these fools in the direction of innocent, helpless babies! No there can be no good that would come out of this kind of thing. Just another push of the envelope. HL
