Maybe in time he would be deserving, so what was the hurry? People can forgive and forget...in due time, and based on accomplished deeds.

Jan 28th 2011 9:42AM What I have done in the past 5 or so years, is to pay for a box and not take the cookies. I personally have never liked them going back to when my daughter sold them years ago, and this way I don't have to even open the box and the scouts double the profit on the purchase!

Jan 24th 2011 10:15AM Zenyatta is a great mare who brought energy and life into a sport that badly needs it. But an all time great? The stats just doesn't support the accolade. She beat males only once against a suspect field in the 2009 Classic, and though her 2010 attempt was heroic, she didn't win. Her run in California was against VERY suspect competition and short fields, basically beating the same bunch of vastly over-matched FILLIES AND MARES each time. Kudos to Zenyatta for a fantastic career, and to the Mosses and trainer Sheriffs for managing her life at the track so brilliantly. ****A TRULY GREAT MARE PASSED AWAY LATE LAST WEEK. Her name was MIESQUE, 2 time winner of the BC Mile, never running out of the money in 16 starts and winner of over 1.6 million back in the late 80's. She died at the age of 27 and was a brilliant broodmare who passed on her courage to her sons and daughters for many years. She raced primarily against males in her career, in fact, ONLY against the best males of her generation in Europe and America during the second half of her career. So lets keep comparisons in perspective...Zenyatta was/is a wonderful race mare, but timeless true GREATNESS has a very high benchmark.
