Iowa School Principal Delivers Birthday Spankings to Students {ParentDish}

May 28th 2011 9:43PM I honestly fail to understand how anyone can justify touching a child in such a wildly inappropriate manner? Spankings? Firstly -aren't those reserved for punishments parents give their own children? Corporal punishment has long been nixed in public schools... but what I find creepiest is how this principal justifies his hitting children on their butts with a "padded hockey stick" into something "fun." We're not talking about a game a dad plays with his kids -we're talking about a principal and his students. This is unprofessional and inappropriate at the very least, and depending on the circumstances and this state's laws -this could certainly be considered sexual assault.

Are 'Babies' the New Penguins? {Moviefone Blog}

Mar 22nd 2010 3:14AM I truly am curious why so many women came here (Elizabeth and Alexandria for example) to rant about their strong desires to NOT see this film and their camaderie about a childfree lifestyle, but honestly... how are the two related? This looks like a fascinating film on cultural diversity, and an interesting dive into the human similarities we all share from birth, no matter our backgrounds. I will see it for that reason alone. The fact that there will be, what a large majority of people including myself consider, "cute" babies doing "cute" things, as some of you said with seeming disgust, is just a bonus. The trailer made me laugh and smile, and sorry to burst your bubble naysayers, but yes, babies are pretty damn cute at times. They are seriously just little people showing their wonder at the newness of the world around them and following their human instincts in reaction to it. I think that's pretty cool to watch.

On another note, no one is here to attack your lifestyle choices, and childfree living is great. I too, wish more people WOULD NOT have children out of societal conventions/expectations. But please ladies, stop being so defensive over things that no one is saying... ike that "just because you are female you should have babies or go and see this film." No one is saying that, we're just trying to talk about the film! Following this link and posting on this page should mean you're interested in discussing this article and film with others, if you're not, please don't post an irrelevant rant... peace everyone!

Kellie Pickler and Little Brother Break Down Barriers {The Boot}

Feb 16th 2010 7:57AM I find it incredibly disturbing the titled link to this article was "Boys Teach Kellie Pickler a Lesson." ...What the F***?! Could AOL not think of something less sexist and sadistic sounding? It sounds like the title for a fricking snuff film or a S&M porno! What a bunch of idiotic assholes...

Heart-Shaped Tub Romances Your Bathroom {Luxist}

Jan 16th 2007 2:22PM It's pretty cute, and depending on my future budget, I might buy it one day. But still, I can't help but wonder... What do you say to your guests when they use your bathroom and get a look at your hot pink "TUB of LOVE"? Really, now? What do you SAY?

It's not too late to buy leg warmers! {Stylelist}

Nov 26th 2006 6:04PM Hey people. Some interesting comments about weight and fashion have been made here. What I would like to know from some of you is what do you guys actually consider FAT? Size 16? 14? 12???

I myself am 17 years old, 5 feet 7 inches and a size 12 and I'm proud of it! I'm pretty comfortable with my body. I like the way I look, and people don't really think I'm fat. Except for the anorexics of course. I'll never be a size 2 or 4 or even a 6, and I don't want to!! These leg warmers look ugly to me. They strongly resemble the tights or whatever that dead Wicked Witch of the East wore in The Wizard of Oz.

The day I wear leg warmers or skeeny-jeans will be the day I meet Johnny Depp and get his digits for a date. It's just NOT gonna happen. Also, I know some lovely curvy girls at my school who are sizes 7, 8, 10, even (SHOCK!) a 12! whose bodies look great in these icky skeeny-jeans.

What can I say? I'm not a "trendy" girl. I prefer classic, feminine styles.
I like lace details. And pleated skirts. And cameos. And PEARLS!!!

Later!

Holiday hairstyling help from InStyle {Stylelist}

Nov 23rd 2006 10:40PM You know people, just because some women are making jokes about the revolutionary "pony tail" doesn't mean they're rude or insecure. In school, I myself NEVER used to have time to do much with my hair, so after fussing with my long locks I just got fed up and ended up pulling it back into a pony tail--EVERY, SINGLE DAY. And BELIEVE ME, it got old fast. I knew it looked boring, staid, safe, and well, unattractive after a while. So forgive these ladies and me myself when we say, "Ponytail? (Even with poof) Oh PLEASE..."
