BlackBerry Tour in the wild gets Verizon branding, 15 minutes of fame {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 19th 2009 1:25AM I use a Pearl on Verizon now. If the tour doesn't have unrestricted GPS (meaing I can use it with Google Maps), then that's the last straw. I'll try out an iPhone and see if the coverage works for me. If it does, I'll move my family plan over.

The Motorola RAZR 2 {Engadget}

May 16th 2007 12:41AM Not bad. I think the phone looks a tad better; the larger screen and slimmer size give it more of a balanced look.

When Verizon gets the CDMA version, their standard to-do list will probably apply:

1. Cut out any useful bluetooth profiles
2. Put in the old, horribly red Verizon UI
3. Completely change button integration so it only works with V-Cast music, Get It Now, and the like.

Ok, so I exaggerate a little. Still, Veizon's track record is pretty bad. Verizon, are you listening? I know most people don't care, but the people who do, like me, seriously consider other carriers when you do these things.

Sorry for the rant.

TUAW Macworld coverage will include liveblogging the Keynote {TUAW.com}

Jan 8th 2007 11:30AM Scott, do you mean you are going to do what Engadget did last year?

If that's the case, I much prefer it. Don't get me wrong - chat is cute, but this is macworld! We need news, and we need it fast :D

iDropper - FTP made simple {TUAW.com}

Jan 3rd 2007 10:43PM Yeah, I can see this being useful for certain businesses.

I tried it just now - for basic FTP functionality, it's actually not bad. The droplet starts the app very quickly, uploads, then quits. So it is literally one mouse movement.

Transmit has a similar droplet, but it starts up the whole application and it doesn't quit afterwards. So this droplet thing has appeal, but not enough to make me pay for it.

Wartoddling: The next generation of wardriving {TUAW.com}

Jan 3rd 2007 10:38PM When I read it I thought there was a child in there at the same time.

Yeah, it's a little creepy. I guess he's going for the stealth thing....but couldn't he just put it in a bag?

TUAW Resolutions: Expand Your Mind {TUAW.com}

Dec 27th 2006 9:45PM I liked this post Erica. Informative and interesting. I will check some of this stuff out.

Snowfall {TUAW.com}

Dec 19th 2006 7:50PM "...and I love it when other people shovel it off the sidewalk"

That was pretty good Scott :)

Should iPods be banned? {TUAW.com}

Dec 19th 2006 9:26AM Yikes. It's just a post. I agree that crime would shift to another device or object. iPods are stolen because they are so numerous and have value, but their existence is not the root cause of their theft.

Erica, the post was fine - don't worry. Maybe you should have phrased it a little differently (so as not to imply that removing them would make us safer) but it really isn't a big deal. It's just a post and you can't expect every post here to be perfect. It's a free blog, so lighten up everyone.

VZW VX9900 (enV) spec sheet leaked, launch imminent? {Engadget Mobile}

Nov 7th 2006 7:35PM Cool, I know someone who would like this. They have the VX 9800.

Also, not that I care, but I think the word you meant was 'imminent'.

TUAW Exclusive: MacHeist details {TUAW.com}

Oct 31st 2006 12:39PM Ha ha ha

I was thinking of trying a frequency count on the message :)

Good thing I didn't try.
