Line2 adds unlimited phone, voicemail and texting to your iDevice for $10 a month {TUAW.com}

Jan 7th 2011 6:19PM Line 2, like Skype, or any VoIP iPhone app, is unreliable. Even as a background app, all these apps will close, even in the background, when the iPhone gets low on memory, with the automatic iPhone memory manager. Then you are "offline." Until there is an app created which keeps certain background apps "forced on," (which would have to end up being a jailbreak app) this is an unreliable voice solution.

Record Breaking Price For Patek Philippe Watch At Auction {Luxist}

May 12th 2010 4:42AM Firstly, this watch is exactly the same in function as the ref 1518. The fact that as a 1527 perpetual chronograph, is known only in 1 example, makes for it being like the "Mona Lisa" of watch collecting ... There are EXTREMELY few vintage complicated Pateks made in one example. As i am in the forefront of these type of timepieces (and attended and participated in the Geneva auctions this week), i am confident that prices will continue to rise on the most exclusive vintage timepieces. Also, this watch will not hit the market again, for a long, long, time. I am confident the Geneva private museum who bought it, will have it on display quite soon.

Too Beaucoup? The Chromed-Out Audi R8 {Luxist}

Jul 23rd 2009 2:15PM Does chroming it make it very hot inside while parked, or does it have just the opposite effect (reflecitng heat?)

I would possibly consider doing this to my DB9, here in Beverly Hills - would make an awesome statement!

Ask Engadget: Best BlackBerry handset right now? {Engadget}

Jan 16th 2009 9:04AM No phone does it all. But, the 8900, PLUS the Nokia N85, is as perfect combination of messaging and multimedia you con configure. PPPlus, there's never an issue on battery llife. I carry the 2 now. Try watching a movie on the 8900, listen to music, Bluetoooth - you'll kill the battery in no time. 2 phones spread it out.

Welcome to the DNC, featuring Barack Obama and the T-Mobile Bold {Engadget}

Sep 28th 2008 7:34PM I have a German T-Mobile Bold. It is QWERTZ. The one shown, is not a released T-Mobile German Bold. However, that is the German T-Mobile logo. the US T-Mobile logo has 4 dots, German, 6. Maybe this is a mock up, maybe a Photoshop, or a special T-Mobile German phone where the keyboard was replaced to a QWERTY one.

The Wall Street Journal Looks Behind The Curtain At Antiquorum {Luxist}

Oct 10th 2007 11:15AM I am personally involved in the top level of high priced watch dealing. What the article fails to mention is, yes, brands are buying their own vintage timepieces, but, they ARE bidding furiously against other collectors around the world that desire these pieces. I personally bid against such companies as Patek, Breguet, and even Omega in their theme auction, to procure pieces for my own inventory, or, high line clients - and, many times, lose to them.

There was a desire to insinuate a scandalous tone, but, it is a little more involved than that, and the high end watch market is real and thriving.

Jumpjet, A New Private Jet Membership Service {Luxist}

Mar 23rd 2007 9:59PM I have spoken to them several times today, with different reps, asking many different questions. It DOES seem too good to be true. They basically said everything is, the way it seems. Then, I look at the FAQs, and, contrary to what the agents were allowing me to feel was the case, there is some exclusions in the FAQs for coast to coast flights. They also told me on the phone, that, it should be 100% I get a flight I want. So, they are saying, for $750, I can go round trip with 3 other people. Sounds impossible. They DO accept Amex for monthly fees, so, I imagine you are well protected, as usual, by Amex, if something goes wrong, like you can never get a proper reservation, or other things, that prevent you to actually use the service .... hmmmm ....
