Feb 9th 2010 7:44AM Pre-Existing applies if you did not have insurance prior to getting it. If you were insured before the qualifying event (marriage) they would cove you. The woman in this story has COBRA coverage in place, so if she marries before it runs out, she is okay.
Jan 14th 2010 5:41PM DOT approval is a way to judge the quality. Snell approval is an even stricter standard, and it's what I choose. Others choose to wear cheap helmets or no helmet at all, which is legal in Florida.
Jan 14th 2010 5:38PM Got it. No covering your face or head. No masks or full-face helmets. (Pity. I like motorcycling, and I like keeping my face.) Also, no Burquas/Chador, no bandanas, no balaclavas, no baseball caps, no turbans, no hats or Yalmukes...
Aug 16th 2009 12:28PM I like the bit about inciting people to be disruptive at town meetings. Last time I checked, the people had a right to petition and protest when government is not representing their views. Beck will be fine, because his ratings are high enough that other sponsors will replace the ones that caved to the leftist ones.
May 22nd 2009 4:52PM Makeup is a reasonable requirement; waitresses at Hooters must wear makeup, bras and nylons as a requirement of their employment, and it's in the employee manual... which stood up in court.
Funny, I never see men who are required to cover tats, remove earrings or wear ties running to the ACLU and whining because they have to present a professional appearance at work.
Mar 4th 2009 3:51PM Larry the Cable Guy said it best: Americans have a right to bare arms.
Feb 28th 2009 5:05AM For truck use, try a Garmin Nuvi and set "avoidances" for surface roads. Easy. (I am sure other brands have a similar function, but I only have experience with the Garmin and the Hertz NeverLost.)
Feb 22nd 2009 5:08PM Once again, AOL has put up a misleading headline. Here is a story about a real group who flew naked:
Stinker, don't worry about stains... naturists are among the cleanest people you will ever meet, and each person sits on his/her own towel at all times.
Feb 14th 2009 9:22PM Circuit City sold a friend of mine a computer that was DOA, and had its case seal already broken. We brought it right back, and they offered to send it out for repair, but wouldn't exchange it or refund the money. It was a used unit that had beent tamered with!
When the store opened I went to apply for work. They required a signed contract that you would never sue them for illegal practices before they would consider the application. I declined.
Feb 7th 2009 3:37PM Brace yourselves for this: The third world would be much better off if we had not given in to panic when DDT was causing problems. If it is applied responsibly (in miniscule amounts it is highly effective) instead of indiscrminately, DDT would eradicate malaria in a few years. We still have malarial swamps full of mosquitoes to spead the disase courtesy of Carson's work of fiction: Silent Spring.
