Jan 26th 2008 3:47AM I'm curious if it was owned by the Tran family, still. I went to school with their daughters (Monica and Teresa) and they, too had to live there. I remember welfare families out all hours of the night (as I was heading home from the clubs). To be quite honest, many of the wealthy in NYC were slum lords. Look at restaurateur Steve Tzolis. He owned the now shut down, Elton Hotel on 21st and Park Avenue South. Thank God they closed that dump, down! Why is the Carter still open?
