Louis Vuitton to Open its First Travel Retail Store at South Korea's Incheon International Airport {Luxist}
Dec 7th 2010 2:25PM There is an LV store in the Narita Airport, along with Hermes, Bulgari, and others - I guess the only difference is that Korea gets an Outlet store, versus a non-outlet?
What is the difference?
Lexus Has Big Plans to Replace the Aging SC430 {Luxist}
Oct 12th 2010 8:17PM Aging? It is OLD and time for a replacement. I don't know why people purchase the car. The looks are not there. The performance is not there. The body style is as old as Volvo's. Aging is an understatement.
However, I do have to say, if they continue to develop the car, the car must be making a profit.....
Should You Tip the Housekeeping Staff at a Hotel? {Luxist}
Oct 6th 2010 3:28PM As much as most of you disagree with TRIA, I will take the dark-side and agree with TRIA. Look at how the article ends with Japan. I live in Japan and it is true - they do not expect tip. Employees are expected to work at their most optimal. **THAT** is the way is should be. TRIA is correct, why am I paying $500 a night for a hotel room only to have to tip $10 a night for my room to be cleaned.?
Now, the problem in teh USA is that wages suck. Sorry to say, but they do. I would rather pay $550 a night for my hotel room and not worry about tip. $10 for the bellman, $5 for the doorman, $10 for the cleaning lady... you know what - *forget all that nonsense* just charge me the extra $50 bucks or whatever a night and allow me to enjoy my stay - period.
Restaurants are the same; Owners should pay their people well. If that means I pay $150 for dinner instead of $100, then so be it - but the last thing I want to worry about is tipping. That is why I live in Japan - yes things are more expensive here, but *everyone* does their 100% with no expectation of tip - I will point out that their wages are higher.
TRIA I agree with you - but for us to get our wish, we will need to pay more for our meals and services.
