Shaq On Star Island, Estate of the Day {Luxist}

Aug 29th 2008 2:48PM Murchman,

You have totally misunderstood my comment. I was replying to comments made by people that obviously did not express any comprehension of his estate. And, based on your ignorant comment, you do not understand the issue either.

Shaq On Star Island, Estate of the Day {Luxist}

Comfort Zone Investing: No, the sky is not falling {BloggingStocks}

Jun 29th 2008 9:22PM These are the typical pollyanna views we have been fed since the economy began to deteriate. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately, the train is racing toward us, not away from us. Authors like this one are incapable of accepting the powerful structural deteriorations which are pulsing through our economy and the world's economies. I can list over a dozen serious structural conditions which are interacting with each other to drive us into a long and deep recession.

He claims during the depression prices plunged. Currently, prices are about to explode throughout our economy. Wages are stagnant for almost all workers. Demand is about to drop drastically as most budgets contract. Banks have stopped lending. The financial markets are deteriating. The dollar is plunging. The price of oil is hitting new highs almost daily with no end in sight. Oil is used extensively throughout our economy and prices of all goods and services are beginning to reflect this fact. National debt is rising rapidly. Unemployment is about to accelerate. Over 3 million mortgages are in default.

And, there are virtually NO meaningful proposals to deal with any of these conditions. Free markets are failing, but their hard core adherents cannot come to grip with this condition.

Economists' survey puts chance of 2008 U.S. recession at 50/50 {BloggingStocks}

Feb 8th 2008 4:55PM The so-called experts are reluctant to accurately describe the likely economic outcome. Of course we are entering a long and deep recession. Every leading indicator is predicting the outcome.

The sub-prime mortgage bottom is far from obvious. The lenders are short of cash to lend and have dramatically tightened lending criteria. With house prices doubled, down payments required, the PITI has more than doubled. This has eliminated the vast majority of potential middle class buyers. Gas prices are up over 60%. Food prices are up sharply. Take home wages are flat or negative. Inflation likely will begin to rise. Consumer debt is at a historic high.

Foreign markets are volatile.

All these conditions and more are predicting a long and deep recession. The stimulus package is too little and too late. With a $13 trillion economy, the tiny package will not be effective.

More October Self-Analysis From A-Rod {Fanhouse MLB Blog}

Oct 6th 2007 8:02PM I have to agree with the majority of the negative comments regarding ARod. He has failed to produce in post season games in the past few years. As my Dad used to say, "They pay off on the score."

I do not understand why he chokes in post season games. He has had an outstanding year in the regular season. Why does this ability not carry over to the post season?

In addition, the entire team has been terrible in the first two games. Five hits and three runs in game one and three hits and one run in game two. Pathetic.

I hope this will be Torre's last season. He leaves starting pitchers in until the game is lost before replacing them. He appears to be falling asleep in the dugout. His energy level is approaching a coma.

They had the best record in the second half of the season, but disappear in the first two games of the playoff. Very strange.

CNN Reporter Mocks John McCain {AOL Elections Blog}

Apr 1st 2007 9:12PM Senator McCain has become a lapdog for President Bush and Bush's totally false reporting on the status of Iraq. Remember Bush's false statements on the deck of the air craft carrier, namely "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED." Bush/Cheney have been giving false reports on the status of Iraq ever since.

For McCain to make a quick visit to Iraq and claim he knows what the status of the country is is irresponsible. Let him stay there for weeks and months, travel throughout Iraq without being killed and then tell us what he learned. He cannot learn virtually any detailed information with a quick in and out trip.

I will put my confidence in the reporter who has been there for months. Not a major FLIP-FLOPPER like McCain. He has been on both sides of a myriad number of positions in the past. His word cannot be trusted any more than Bush/Cheney.

Rush Limbaugh: Media Bash Grossman Because He's White {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Feb 7th 2007 10:20PM Rush Limbaugh is the laughing stock of all intelligent Americans. His blown up self importance appeals to those who cannot/willnot think for themselves. Limbaugh has been proven to be a big fat LIAR over and over again.

His dumb, uninformed comment is so typical of RIGHT WING REPUBLICANS. Limbaugh would not recognize an excellent, average and poor quarterback if his life depended upon it. Grossman has earned his reputation all season long. He is a poor quarterback. This is why the Bears attempt to win games without having to depend on his passing ability.

Until you have something intelligent to report, Limbaugh, climb back into the black hole you live in.

The decline and fall of newspapers {BloggingStocks}

Jan 2nd 2007 9:13PM I believe people who do not read newspapers are missing out on a great deal of information which is not available anywhere else. Sports coverage is extensive. Business news coverage is extensive. Stock, bond and mutual fund prices are reported in detail. The editorial and op-ed pages contain rich information. Automobile sections, home sections, lawn and garden sections, food and health sections, etc. are all covered in detail.

The daily news is covered in detail.

The above information and more is covered in a well-written, accurate and understandable manner. This cannot be said for the Internet, where unknown bloggers print articles which may or may not be accurate.

A newspaper can be read at leisure over a cup of coffee. The reader can return to reread articles of interest. A newspaper is a great resource and if it is lost due to disinterest or readers, it will be sorely missed.

Ann Coulter is/was Really Busy {AOL Elections Blog}

Nov 21st 2006 2:09PM Ann Coulter is the cruelist, meanist, self-destructive person alive. She has made a mint by critizing Liberals ad nauseum using outrageous LIES, false statements, exagerations, out of context statements, etc. She rails against the upper east side Liberals in Manhatten, but guess what? This is where she lives.

Her latest diatribe for a book ravished the widows of the men killed in the World Trade Center disaster. Who in their right mind would even think of doing such a cruel, heartless and damaging book? Only Ann Coulter. She will say and write anything that will gain her publicity in order to make more money over someone elses trajedy. The sooner she is shut up for good, the better society will be for it.

Clinton and the Devil Made Haggard Do It! {AOL Elections Blog}

Nov 5th 2006 1:32AM Michelle,

I truly feel sorry for your naive interpretation of this sordid event. Do you feel better to blame the media for this man's major mistakes? Well, that little trick will not fly. The elders of his church have analyzed his behaviour and concluded he is guilty as charged. Thus, he has been removed from his position.

So who will you blame now? The evidence is overwhelming he did what he is accused of doing while at the same time railing against gays, their life style, their desire to marry the partner they love and to achieve the same couple benefits non-gay married couples enjoy.

Do not be surprised if young boys in his church begin to come forward and accuse him of sexually molesting them.
