One-of-a-Kind Cufflinks Made From Your Signature {Luxist}
Oct 3rd 2010 6:50PM That's a great question. Our cufflinks are designed in CAD software- just like engineers design machine parts- great technology because it allows for precision. We are able to render the contours of your handwriting in exact definition. Then the milling machine creates the wax in precision as well so we don't lose the flow of your handwriting. So the designing is on the computer and the craftmanship is done by hand by our experienced jewelers- the finishing, soldering , etc.. all hand done .Not every jeweler you meet will be educated in CAD software- it allows us to show the customer a .jpeg image that is exactly what the handmade product will look like. Traditional jewelers use hand carved waxes & its difficult to envision how a blue or green wax is going to end up looking in fine gold. Thanks so much for a great comment!
