However,if you .love manual dimmer controls...the 787 will greatly disappoint. Since it's all done with mental telepathy, the individual flight crew member simply "wills" the light intensity of the component he/she...(he/she?)...wishes to customize and VIOLA'!
I spent 30 years as a tech in Boeing/Airbus...(again, HE/she?)... cockpits Kent. If I was at home in any of them, it would be a toss of the coin between the 757/767. I love my new career with the 787 but....I always get the feeling the aircraft is literally trying to get into MY head!
Having said that in the midst of a test on the flight deck of a 787, I'm being told that I shouldn't talk behind someones back and to teach me a lesson...the very arduous/lengthy ops check will start again...
...when the 787 feel likes it.

Oct 24th 2011 3:12PM Same here! In fact, the ONLy reason I checked this one out is because I am a tech rep for the airlines. So, Huffpost sucked me in...probably for the last time. And, it is too Huffington if it is AOL! It's like sex in fact.You can't have one without the other...whatever Huffington believes the "other" is!

Oct 24th 2011 3:08PM Thanks Phillip! Well done and great comment. I'd like to have a nickel for every time this happens GLOBALLY with the same grounding results! No airport nor ANY airline is immune to "ramp rash." In fact, some airlines who are BIG in airports such as CLT and PHL seem to thrive on their occurrences of aircraft damage from "under-the-wing" workers! Sometimes,I believe it's a contest of who can do the most damage...and how often they can do it! And I wonder how many times the Space Shuttle was wacked before it got the "ultimate wack!"
