Walmart Losing Business, Looks to Retool {WalletPop}
Feb 23rd 2011 1:16PM If you do a little research, you will find that many American companies have their products made in China that used to be made in the USA. Why? Blame factory workers that want wages and benefits that cause product prices to skyrocket. Blame inflation. Blame the oil companies who jack up fuel prices at the drop of a hat. By the way...if products made in China are made to American specifications: they are generally good quality products. If Walmart wants to attract more customers they could create loading zones that are covered so purchases can be loaded without getting wet. They could also make entrances safer for pedestrians by blocking out vehicle traffic.
Britain's Academic Elite Shock Ski Trip Sponsors by Showing Their Cheeky Sides {ParentDish}
Jan 24th 2011 5:33PM We seem to be going backwards socially at approximately the same speed as we go forward technologically. Give credit to the media, placing money above character and isolating ourselves with electronic, mostly useless, gadgets instead of face-to-face communications and incompetent leadership at all levels.
Tribute Coins May Be Pretty -- But They Are a Pretty Bad Investment {WalletPop}
Jan 19th 2011 12:47PM Beware the hype, BS and outright LIES that most of the TV coin shows continuously spew out. They mainly sell real coins, but they are outrageously over-priced. Do some reasearch before diving into this collecting field. Subscribe to Coin World or Numismatic News, attend coin shows (but don't buy...just look & learn), research the internet, talk to long-term reputable coin dealers, decide what you want and what you can afford BEFORE jumping in. Don't be a sucker!
How the Post Office Can Make Money and Survive {WalletPop}
Jan 14th 2011 7:39PM It appears that the USPS leadership is about as incompetent as Congress. Ideas to lower costs have been TALKED ABOUT for several years, but no action taken. Saturday service should have been eliminated long ago. People don't need it and they can easily adapt to not having it. I have personally seen many tiny little towns, some so small they have less than 200 residents, that were built state-of-the-art within the past 10 years. Rarely are there more than 5 vehicles in their large parking lots. I can drive past 5 of them in less than 25 miles. How is the cost of building and operating these branches justified? I use carrier pickup for parcels and have stamps delivered to my mailbox. I can make mailing labels online and very rarely need to go to a post office. Mailing costs continue to rise and the huge losses continue. It is ridiculous!
PSA: Studios Have Begun Removing Special Features From Rental DVDs {Moviefone Blog}
Dec 10th 2010 6:59PM The bottom line is always the same: "anything to increase sales". Most so-called special features are not worth watching at all. Why have previews and trailers when you have already seen the movie? Directors' commentaries are always positive, whether or not the movies were any good. Sometimes outtakes are humorous. Closed captioning is a must for the hearing impaired...and for many UK films!
The Viagra Divide -- Why Are Female Sex Enhancers Banned From TV? {Lemondrop}
Sep 16th 2010 1:07PM ALL sexual enhancement advertising should be banned from TV...and radio. Young children (who watch and listen) should not be exposed to such advertising. It is difficult enough to be a parent without being required to 'explain' what such commercials are for, expecially to young children. Social mores are being ripped to shreds by greed.

Are airline passengers getting ruder? Deal with it! {Gadling}
Sep 9th 2010 1:51PM Avoiding all the aggravation of commercial flights is simple: stop flying. Drive, take a bus, take a train or a ship. Watch how quickly prices would drop and good service would return as a result.
