Squatter Andre Barbosa Lives in $2.5 Million House in Boca Raton for Free {AOL Real Estate}
Jan 31st 2013 10:38AM "According to Florida law, a person can establish ownership of a property if they've been able to live in a home without eviction for seven years.">>
This is what I don't get, they have to pay the property tax, so it is not free even though they say it is in the story.....
I know what I pay for property tax every year, in this neighborhood he has to be paying $10,000 or $20,000 a year so it is not free, then you have to pay for electric, gas, up keep etc. Just living in one of these house cost bukoo bucks plus the taxes which must be paid by law, by the squatter according to the story...
What gets me is that the lady next door offered to buy the home and BOA has not called her back, I was late one month last year and BOA was harassing me and threatening to come after my house, I caught up the next month but still, here they are worried about my $100,000 home while this million dollar mansion sits there and they are not concerned enough to try and sell when someone calls with an offer. Typical, always go after the little guy...
Landlord From Hell Bans Pork, Long Showers, Overnight Guests {AOL Real Estate}
Jan 11th 2013 4:31PM This is a guy renting a room not an apt,. or a house so there is a differnce, it is still his house. Still anyone who signs these rules are aware of them and are agreeing to follow them. If you don't like them or don't agree with them then don't sign them and move in, otherwise you have to follow the rules he set.
Homeowner Confronts Naked Intruder Choking Pet Rottweiler, Police Say {AOL Real Estate}
Jan 6th 2013 7:57AM Good story, I read another news story yesterday about a mother home alone with her children, she heard an intruder and hid up in the attic with her kids, the guy came up into the attic and she shot him 5 times. Kids are safe, mom is safe, home is safe and the bad guy is in the hospital awaiting a ride to jail. Good to read when the good guys win now a days, same with this story. The dog is safe, the home owner is safe and the bad guy is going to jail. I have always said this about my dogs, they are early warning detection systems, they let me know someone is there and gets to them first so while they are fighting with the robber I have time to get my gun for back up. All these slasher movies, none of the people owned dogs so the slashers could walk around and hide inside the house, get a dog and a gun.

Dec 21st 2012 11:57AM I said it before and I will say it again, it seems the stricter gun laws get the more shootings we have. Many of us remember growing up in the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s, back when you did not have a waiting period to buy a gun, back before back ground checks and we did have the rash of shooting we do today. This started getting worse and worse in the last 20 years, it is not guns, it is something more, something in the water, medication, upbringing or lack of, schooling, etc. but not guns. It is no longer safe to go to a movie, the mall or even drop your kids off at school, I have my carry permit but if I didn't I would be getting one with all the crazy's out there. As a veteran and a rifleman in my VFW Honor Guard had I been at that school I would have used my gun to stop this whacko as would any responsible gun owner, but the school is a gun free zone meaning honest law abiding citizens will follow the law while an insane criminal will not..We need to change the laws but we need to change these gun free zone laws and allow people to protect themselves. We are focusing on the wrong issue, guns are not the problem, the root of the problem is mental health. The citizens have had guns in this country since the birth of our nation, no school houses were shot up even in the wild west days when everyone had side arms. Back in the 1920s when you could buy a fully automatic machine gun they did not shoot up schools and movie theatres, only in the last 20 years..Lets change these bogus gun free zones that restrict honest citizens from protecting themselves when danger comes knocking.

Atheist Patrick Greene, Who Threatened to Sue Over Courthouse Nativity Scene, Sparks New Controversy {AOL Real Estate}
Nov 24th 2012 11:49AM It really is sad that tax payers have to foot the bill to defend against people like this, this all boils down to tolerance of other people's beliefs. Believe in what you want, worship what or who you want, or don't at all. If you think about it, almost anything can be considered offensive, the brick faced building could be offensive, or too many red lights, or sirens. You have to be tolerant and I think the church is being very tolerant in this case. I am not a Bible thumper and I do not get offended when I see a Jewish menorah decoration on the city streets or I see a Chinese new year parade or even if an atheist puts out a sign that reads God and religion are myths.
Idaho's Empty Governor's Mansion a Thorn in Residents' Sides {AOL Real Estate}
Oct 26th 2012 3:08PM Here in Tennessee four years ago our Gov. spent $14,000 on facy light fixtures and light switches to his mansion, he also spent 1/2 a million for better parking for his "parties" so that his rich guests could have plenty of parking for their limos. Nice to know some Gov. like to blow tax money on items that are needed like light switches when they can go to home depot and but them for $1.49 each.
Jeffrey Dahmer, Andrea Yates, the Lemp Family: Life Inside Homes Where Grisly Deaths Took Place {AOL Real Estate}
Aug 6th 2012 12:39AM It would not bother me, it is sad what happened but for the right price I would not lose any sleep over any house or building. Heck I could live at Auswitz and sleep okay, terrible what happened but if someone gave me the place I could make it a home. The home we bought the owner died here...
These Listings Aren't the 'Model' of Perfection {AOL Real Estate}
Aug 4th 2012 11:03AM You don't use models in your house, you use them outside to act like neighbors. A house with a view would be a good listing, they sunbathe and bring over all their soriety sisters and play volleyball, etc. etc. etc.
Jail Time for Phoenix Man Who Hosted Bible Study at His Home {AOL Real Estate}
Jul 8th 2012 4:25PM "Vicki Hill, Phoenix's chief assistant city prosecutor, said religious freedom had nothing to do with it and that it was a matter of public safety.
"Any time you are holding a gathering of people continuously, as he does – we have concerns about people being able to exit the facility properly in case there is a fire," Hill told Fox News Radio. "It came down to zoning and proper permitting." I don't buy that excuse, like he said,m if it were Monday night football or poker nights they would have to shut down half the houses across the country. Leave dude alone, if he and some friends want to have Bible study let them, if it were AA meetings it would be okay.
