Feb 9th 2007 6:47AM Minestrome is not a heavy soup. it doesn't have a flour base, no cream, only lots of different vegetable. you can avoid adding potatoes in it and it will be a healthy soup.

Tomatoes a la provencal recipe: With 3 tbsp of olive oil in a skillet, cut them in half, add in skillet and let them cook at very low temperature for about 1 hour. the last 15 mn, add chopped garlic on each of these and chopped parsley. you can also add some swiss cheese if you like it. Serve with white rice, delicious and easy.

Jan 17th 2007 7:55PM I am sorry but I disagree completely with you Jill. I am french and over there in France we don't tip servers and the results is that they are much less friendly and helpful than in the states. of course, they don't care because they get the same salary no matter what so why bother! but we should tip really according to what servers deserve and not, like my husband (who is american), 20 % no matter what. like I always tell him: "you are killing the system".
