13 Ways to Keep Your Husband Happy {Personal Articles}

Jan 11th 2009 12:45AM The tips were good, but they also apply to HUSBANDS!! Mine needs to clean the drain, let ME play with MY friends, be understanding of MY work schedule, & compliment ME genuinely & often!!! Can we call this article "How to make your SPOUSE happy??" Not just about the men!!! This is the 21st century & women count too!!!!

Outrageously Extravagant Birthday Parties for Children {Luxist}

Jun 20th 2007 8:29AM And people wonder what happened to our children, how they got so spoiled & out of control.... Put parenting responsibility on THE PARENTS!! We are NOT their friends!! We are there to care for & discipline them until they move out of the house. Shows like My Super Sweet 16 don't help, it only glorifies the ridiculous. Since when do parents care more about what their neighbors think than giving their children love & guidance ?? I HATE society the way it is right now!! My 4 year old will grow up thinking I'm a dictator, 'cause this is NOT me.

The Do's and Don'ts of Do-It-Yourself Dye Jobs {oldstylelist}

Feb 16th 2007 8:00AM First, as a professional for many years, let me apologize for some of the others who sounded so greedy. Of COURSE we want to make money.. it IS a career. You have to understand that the beauty industry, while making millions of dollars daily, is still not taken seriously. People think of "Beauty School Dropout" from Grease. People think that you just stand behind a chair & B.S. all day. I know, that's what my husband thinks sometimes... :)

There is a lot of knowledge that a GOOD stylist must have.. not just knowing how to hold a pair of scissors... we perform chemistry, biology & psychology on a daily basis. I do feel bad for those who have had bad salon experinces, or those who have been overcharged. That has always made me less popular in my profession. I don't believe in banging you over the head in the initial visit. I believe that if you're happy, you'll come back more often & I prefer volume business & loyalty to a fat payday. So, I'll never be rich, but I'm happy doing what I enjoy for people who appreciate me.

To those with a bad taste in their mouth, try again to find a stylist that not only knows how to make you look good, but that you connect with personally. That's what it's all about.

Whitney Houston to auction off her unmentionables {Stylelist (Main)}

Jan 5th 2007 8:37AM I heard on the radio the other day that Whitney is not selling the items, in fact, they are being auctioned off by the storage facility for nonpayment.
Damn shame... Whitney was, in her day, a true diva & I feel she could have stood with the likes of Barbra Streisand & Tina Turner. Her father must be rolling in his grave.

Does our hair need filtered water? {That's Fit}

Nov 5th 2006 7:13PM The post's title IS misleading & as a professional hairstylist for 17 years, I have never heard of the benefits or drawbacks of using tap water on one's hair. If we, as humans, didn't destroy everything we touch (such as the environment) we wouldn't need contraptions like this.

Just an opinion. I'm entitled.

TV might cause autism {ParentDish}

Oct 22nd 2006 9:20AM I agree with 98% of the posts. This generation of parents will ultimately harm their kids with their overanalyzing.

Sure, we have more knowledge now that 20 years ago, but that doesn't make us smarter. It seems to make us more paranoid. We're afraid of everything, & everything will hurt us or cause our untimely death.

I know there are many other causes for autism. My nephew was given large amounts artificial sweetener via breast milk every day during his first year & now is labeled autistic. Anyone looking into that??
