Dina Lohan Says Her Daughter Lindsay 'Is a Fighter' {PopEater}
Jul 10th 2010 11:52AM I think we can all agree that neither of Lindsay's parent's will win an award for being the "parent of the year." They forced her into the lifestyle when she was a kid and had managers and others that were probably giving her drugs like they were candy. It's no wonder she's messed up! Now, I would like to say that it isn't Lindsay's fault. However, as an adult and being 23 myself, I understand that, ultimately, the only person to blame is yourself. You do have the option of controlling your actions. That's not to say that her perception of right and wrong isn't messed up, but she still should be held accountable for her actions.
Just Imagine: The First 100 Days of John McCain {Politics Daily}
Apr 27th 2009 10:31AM I'm glad I'm not the only one that is questioning this. I think there was this whole aura around Obama where he would ride in wearing shiny armor on the back of a great horse and save the day immediately. From what I've seen, this is not the case. In some aspects, I guess things have gotten better. We'll just have to see if they last. However, there are things that are getting worse, such as the deal with the auto manufacturers. Sure, they brought it on themselves, but they also supply one of the greatest areas of jobs in the American workforce. For me this is just a way of detracting from the reality that Obama is not able to deliver on his promises, whether stated or implied, by slandering McCain, to the point of calling his detainment in Vietnam as being "mythic", which I believe there isn't anything too mythinc about it.
Just Imagine: The First 100 Days of John McCain {Politics Daily}
Apr 27th 2009 10:18AM Well, Clinton was no darling either. He's responsible for the mergers of a lot of major companies, including Exxon and Mobil, he's responsible for the mortgage mess, and he didn't really do anything to the effect of decreasing America's dependence on foreign oil. If anything, he walked hand-in-hand with OPEC. If you'd really like to blame people, you need to blame everyone in office since Jimmy Carter's failed presidency. Technically, all anybody did from the recession in the Carter years until this day was try to support a feigned economy, one that was really hollow with limited substance to it.
John Rich Preaches His Own Agenda {The Boot}
Mar 29th 2009 1:04AM You, and several others, seem to forget that one of the main reasons for this financial crisis is the bad mortgages that Bill Clinton is responsible for. He wanted to make home loans available to just about everyone, even if it was incredibly risky to do so. Now, they're all defaulting. The thing is, this country never seems to learn its lesson. The Great Depression was largely over a credit-based economy and people's manipulation of it. That's essentially what we're dealing with now.
Times Square to get a makeover for less traffic, more fun {WalletPop}
Mar 2nd 2009 12:04PM Funny thing, when you're one of the ones in charge, such as Chris Dodd on the Senate Finance Committee, you can get away with quite a bit. It's all in knowing the rules and, most importantly, the loopholes that allow you to get by with questionable and even illegal things. It's also something you will never hear a politician address, since they may oneday need one of those same loopholes themselves.
Tim McGraw for Governor? {The Boot}
Dec 12th 2008 9:50AM I would like to start by saying that I'm a Republican who does not like Ronald Reagan. With that out of the way there shouldn't be anybody calling me a hypocrite like has occurred earlier in this discussion. I wasn't even aware he lived in Tennessee. I thought he lived in California with Faith, because they were interested in persuing acting or something like that. He's probably just using this as a ploy to try and get some free publicity since the emphasis is on younger and better looking individuals in the music business. Remember, just because you're a celebrity such as Tim, Faith, Paris,or Oprah does not mean that you have a high IQ or really know enough to have an intelligible conversation on politics, more the less run for office.
Polar bear Knut senselessly murders ten carp in front of zoo visitors {Gadling}
Apr 13th 2008 4:56PM In my British Literature class, the professor told the story of the scorpion and the bull frog. The scorpion was needing to get across a small stream but couldn't and tried to acquire the help of the frog to allow him to ride on his back as the frog jumped from stone to stone safely reaching the other side. The frog replied, "No, you'll just sting me as soon as we're across." The scorpion replied that he wouldn't, and they were on their way. As soon as they reached the other side the scorpion stung the frog. The frog asked why he did that, and the scorpion replied, "It's in my nature."
With that said, it is in Knut's nature, as a bear, to eat fish. If they don't want him to eat live fish, don't put them in there with him. Don't like it, get over it. Of course, you can go up to the bear and try to tell him he's wrong for doing it and try convincing him to turn vegetarian...
Hot Seat: When Will Hillary Quit? {Politics Daily}
Apr 8th 2008 12:47PM I've noticed a few people blaming Republicans for starting this mess of asking when Hillary will quit. I cannot speak for all Republicans, but many of the ones I know, including myself, would rather Hillary get the nomination instead of Obama, because she is more qualified and has done more than just give speeches to get attention.
Hot Seat: Is McCain Too Angry? {Politics Daily}
Apr 3rd 2008 10:18PM Let me ask everybody something. Who among us has never lost our temper just once? He's a human being as we all are and, like each of us, he is not perfect. A large problem with this country is everybody wants to protect everybody's self-esteems. Ok, so McCain says a few things that hurts some people's feelings. That's a part of life. Sometimes you've gotta say and do things that people don't like. Thank the Lord McCain has the guts to tell it like it is.
Also, I agree with many of you who stated this was a biased poll. I read the article associated with this poll, and it was even worse.
Don't Look! Don't Look! Yep, It's an Eyeball Tattoo {Asylum}
Feb 27th 2008 10:47PM Ok, I cannot stand the idea of getting a regular tattoo. Why would I want to do that? The thing is, with surgery, traditional tattoos can be removed. This, you're stuck with it, even if it completely destroys your eyes. As my grandmother always told me, "Some people just don't have a lick of sense." This guy just proved her right.
