Life Challenge -- Could You Handle the 52 Weeks of Adventure Club? {Lemondrop}

Apr 19th 2010 1:22PM Hate to brag, but adventure has been my key word from age 4, and I am now a grown woman of 81.
Three weeks ago I drove to Fl to kayak for 6 hours straight in the Everglades. Whew was I exhausted!
But years ago I kayaked from Grand Portage to Isle Royale in Lake Superior in a home made kayak - skirts were not invented then. It was foggy, I had a small Boy scout compass, there was a thunderstorm over land. It took me 7 1/2 hours, because I kept stopping and wondering if I was at the point of no return, and planning what to do if the thunderstorm DID come. Landed safely on a tiny island near Washington Harbor and spent that night in a tiny cabin infested with tiny, ferocious mice.
Now I am planning a trip to Castine, Maine to go on a Mother boat kayaking every day. Then later in the summer I am headed to Kamchatka (Russia) to boat down the Kuril Islands to Japan, stopping at various small islands to take pictures of wild animals, birds and erupting volcanoes.
Life is to be enjoyed. Yes, we have to work for it, and I did, but I also did things all my life, mostly alone, because there were too few other women adventurers.
GO WOMEN!
ps i have alot of other wild adventures.

Igloos Luxury Portable Loos {Luxist}

Oct 18th 2006 10:36AM I invented the Unbrella Biffy several years ago but have never put it on the market. It is a personal toilet, which can be carried in the car and can be set up anywhere, giving a person privacy even on a city street.
