Why I hate The Amazing Race {Gadling}

Sep 23rd 2011 2:59AM I'm with you on this topic! I sometimes watch the show to see places I've traveled to and then get frustrated since the camera doesn't focus long enough to actually see where the show is being filmed. The racers seem to either be going so fast that they miss what they are passing through, or they seem to spend time sitting and waiting somewhere. However, I live with someone who absolutely LOVES this show!

Yves Saint Laurent "Muse Two Artisanal" Made of Plastic Bags {Stylelist}

Jun 1st 2011 1:49AM One thing that this purse proves is that using recycled plastic can result in a subdued and "European" styled handbag. That's a great use of limited resources!

Cappellini Proust Armchair by Alessandro Mendini {Luxist}

Nov 26th 2010 9:42AM I believe Mendini originally "redesigned" an acknowledged classis so it's a redesign of a redesign! What fun--it's gorgeous.

Luxist Awards' Winners for the Best in Fine Dining {Luxist}

Oct 2nd 2010 12:13AM Thanks for the interesting bits of history and photos of The French Laundry--however humble or questionable the building's origins, it's current menus have far out shone that infamy!

Cathay Pacific's Private China Tours {Luxist}

Sep 17th 2010 4:23PM What a great compromise--as someone who hates traveling as part of a group since it requires adhering to a schedule and it's not the best way to find quirky places--this is a great idea for reaping the benefits of local knowledge and expertise and still having time for solo exploration!

Vatican Cracks Down on Scantily Clad Tourists {AOL Travel News}

Jul 31st 2010 1:48AM I second that these standards have been in place and enforced for a long time. The thing that always makes me chuckle is that while modest dress and covered arms and legs may be required to get in to see the Vatican art collections, a lot of the subjects in the art are naked or mostly naked! I'm all for showing respect when visiting religious locations, but does anyone else find it a little funny that modest dress is necessary to view nudes ?

Jul 20th 2010 1:29AM Another example of how environmental consideration can be a part of just about everything. Love the ideas of going green on the green!

Little Purple Cow Jewelry, Mining The Past For Inspiration {Luxist}

Jun 29th 2010 11:44PM Beautiful and creative! Love this high end repurposing which once again proves that luxury and treasures don't always have to be new. Love the idea of actually using an heirloom and enjoying it more than just once in a while.
