Dec 25th 2010 5:24PM The whole "Santa" business is just that, business, to sell toys. If you celebrate Christmas (a pagan holiday co-opted by christians) because you believe in the bible, tell me, where in the bible is Santa Claus? Or a christmas tree? In reality it is and has been one huge marketing scheme. Parents take kids to see "santa" for the parents sake, not for the kids. It is easy (and healthy) to raise your kids without them believing in "santa" or the easter bunny (another religious icon), or god for that matter, while still raising ethical and moral children. Just look at all the unethical and immoral people raised with religion, and understand that it is the parents teaching and leading by example, and not a church, that instills good values. When I read about churches being built for tens of millions of dollars, and "believers" flocking to see "jesus" in a sandwich or blot of paint, I feel sad for the gullible and easily controlled.

You can choose to fly, or not to fly, that is your choice. If you CHOOSE to fly, then you must go through the same security measures that everyone else who chooses to fly goes through, even if you are blonde and blue eyed. The fact that you are blonde, however, makes one ponder whether there is some truth to the stereotype, but I won't go there. Your ignorance has nothing to do with your haircolor, that would be too easy.

Jul 19th 2010 9:14AM The real problem here is that MLB does not train/control the umpires, they are treated as independent contractors, so standards, continuing training etc are lacking. Umpires are paid a pittance, and given the critical role they play in games, I am amazed at anyone who is surprised when poor calls are made. I am all for the human element in sport, any many calls are "too close to call" so its unfair to come down on the umps, but there are also just plain bad calls too. I think umpires ought to be paid better and held to higher standards, with ongoing training, performance reviews, etc.

The video of her being interviewed is how she presently looks, and she DEFINITELY has put on weight, you can see it in her face and neck. So for all you a-holes out there saying "she looks great in her uniform", try READING the friggin article and if you still don't get it, go back to school and get your GED. Hooters has already defended their policy in the courts and won ... they were sued by a guy who wanted to be a waiter there, among others, and the fact that they are an entertainment/food venue with set standards for servers is an established fact. If you don't like it, go back to McDonalds and get your greasy burger from a pimple faced teenager.
