May 18th 2011 2:29PM I realize that such a policy among ob-gyns may sound appalling but the fact is more and more ob-gyns are being SUED by women/families if anything tiny thing goes wrong. We are such a litigious society that hundreds if not thousands of ob-gyns are closing their practices because of litigation costs. Women who are obese present the greatest risk for pregnancies and medical problems. Unfortunately it is becoming a greater and greater problem in our society. It only takes a couple of lawsuits to ruin a practice.

May 6th 2011 7:15PM Kinda sad to see all the vitriol heaped on Kim. It is so easy to take pot shots at someone you do not know. We are all flawed human beings. She is a gorgeous woman with a voluptuous body. Most men go crazy over that. The fact she seeks fame and fortune.....and she does it through her looks......well how many of us would say no to that. Whatever her intentions are, she will reap the consequences, good or bad. Why call her names? How many of you guys have slept with multiple women but you call a woman who does the same thing all sorts of nasty names. Shame on you! When is the judging, criticizing and blaming going to stop against people we don't even know? You think she is all bad, that she doesn't have a heart? She's chosen a path, just as certainly as we all have chosen our own paths. Does it make any of you any happier breaking her down on a blog? What does that say about you?

Mar 17th 2011 1:34PM This is not about coal politics. I doubt this coal baron cares about anything but getting rich. It disturbs me that anyone would purchase an animal as a status symbol. This Tibetan Mastiff is a beautiful dog, but you have to wonder how much he will be loved, rather than just being used for breeding. Believe me, the Chinese wouldn't lift a finger to help Tibet, especially a wealthy coal baron. There is no evidence that those in power in China care about people at all except to be exploited. If they don't care about people, why would they care about the environment? Frankly, it disturbs me that someone would pay this much for a pup when there are people in China breaking their backs to subsist and there are probably lots of dogs who are homeless and starving. On a more humorous note, while this dog is fabulous, the food bill alone when he reaches 280 lbs.....omigosh! But wouldn't you want to cuddle with him? He's fur is so luxuriant?

For those who've never suffered from being obese or having an eating disorder, it seems to be a "simple" matter of exercising and eating less. Emotional eating is challenging to overcome. Despite the lack of compassion by some on this blog, I know you know you are on the right path for you and you have a lot of supporters out here. Of course you look so much better with the weight loss but it's not about how you look on the outside! It's really an inside job! Higher self-esteem, achieving your goal to be healthier, having more vitality and energy. You are making great progress!

I suspect she is controlling, wants things her way, is egotistical, and has a need to be front and center. The fact she went "public" but asked for "privacy" indicates they have a different view of the world. AGAIN, he's much better off moving on. She strikes me as an insecure, controlling and self-absorbed person.

Mar 3rd 2011 1:20PM I could never understand what Bruce saw in her. She has always shoved herself into the spotlight. If she really wanted privacy, she wouldn't have announced it to the world. She was an ugly child, turned out to be a reasonably attractive young woman, and now has distorted her looks with abysmal plastic surgery. Bruce on the other hand, has aged gracefully and is still handsome. Bruce, this divorce is the best thing that could happen to you! Melissa, just go away. You aren't that good an actress and you are totally self-aggrandizing!

Feb 25th 2011 1:33PM JoC, you are right on target. What he is doing to himself is a waste of humanity, talent and opportunity. Perhaps he has to take a great fall in order to get well. All the money and fame in the world will not make him a great father, which should be his second priority behind getting clean and sober. He has a lot of amends to make to many people; most importantly to his children.

Feb 7th 2011 1:12PM Where's the sportsmanship here? Why dis the fans or their city? I'm glad the Packers won, and I think the Steelers' quarterback is morally reprehensible, but people are people. The Steelers have a long and proud history, as does the city of Pittsburgh. The Packers fans and the city of Green Bay are not morally superior. As to the half-time show and the commercials, you are spot-on there! Some of the commercials were tasteless at best.

Feb 7th 2011 1:06PM I'm happy the Packers won! The Steelers' loss was due to a multitude of factors. I tend to think that part of the reason is that their "leader", lacks the moral character and dedication to be one of the GREAT quarterbacks. In his personal life he is reckless, arrogant, and has no respect for women. He abuses what he thinks is his power as a football 'god". He's a scumbag.
