Nov 23rd 2010 7:56AM I deployed to Iraq on December 23rd, 2005. After arriving incountry and being shown to our "quarters" I opened my bags and found a package I did not remember packing. It was a 4 inch tall christmas tree my wife had purchased from the 5 and dime. A bunch of us gathered around, took some pictures and made some tearful phone calls back to the states. I still have the tree, and everytime I see it, I think of all the men and women who are absent from their families every year and say a prayer for those who will never celebrate another Christmas.
