Mar 28th 2010 12:50AM if MJB knew so much about what a racist Elvis was, why did she even sing one of his songs?? Nah some other black person accusing him of being a racist told her that. Why dont you ask Dionne Warwick?? and if James Brown were alive you could ask him why he and Elvis were good friends, oh and Sammy Davis, Jr., Muhammed Ali, BB KIng. And if Elvis was such a racist, why did he embrace Black music so much? He would not have associated himself at all with black music or black people. And then there's the black lady in the 50's Elvis didnt even know whom he bought a new car for cuz she was looking at it.He was pretty stoned his last years and i read he made some off the wall jokes, and apologized for it. But he's a Racist, yea right!!btw: many black artists are glad Elvis embraced their music cuz he opened doors for them. Oh i bet ur gunna say he stole it, well good thing for the black artist he incorporated his style with music he too was brought up on (black music, blues, gospel etc( NOPE MJB WAS WRONG!!! Mar 26th 2010 2:20PM Well without knowing what Exactly Elvis said, Jet Magazine was the same magazine that reported a terrible quote supposedly made by Elvis, which was found to be UNTRUE!they had to take it back and admit he never said those things. Also,I have seen documentaries with some of his black female back-up singers, they said he was nothing but kind & polite. Just cuz he's a southern man, it does not make him a racist. He hung out with many black artists growing up

Practice due diligence. There are many African Americans that will tell you different. and if she's referring to a statement supposedly made by Elvis in the 50's it was found false and the journalist had to take it back!!
