Video: Watch the Launch of the New McLaren MP4-12C Live {Luxist}

Mar 20th 2010 1:01AM If you are not impressed then you do not have a clue as to the research and development required to to produce this vehicle. A small company in Western Massachusetts, USA named Sinicon Plastics, Inc. is responsible for developing the processing paramiters for carbon fiber resins. While it may seem basic in this day and age, these processing parameterrs are crucial to the success or failure of the very resins that make this car as stucturally sound and as light weight as it is. This is a magor factor in it's success. This success is also manifested in the stealth bomber and many other carbon fiber products such as bicyces. Sinicon Plastics, Inc. was actually a sub-contractor to G.E. Plastics who is credited for the develpoment of carbon fiber resins. Sinicon Plastics, Inc. provided the Research and development as well as the data neccessary for GE Plastics to develop and promote this product. Sinicon, with the expertise of Anthony Sinico Sr. & Anthony Sinico Jr., as well as processing engineer John Baer and owner David Allen provided the plastics industry with proccesses to produce such light weight and structurally sound components. As a member of that team, I am encouraged by McClaren's dedication to perfection at any cost. Too many companies are willing to accept the status quo in an effort to bring a vehicle to market at a competitive price, McClaren seems to be more interested in perfection than it is in marketability. That is the essence of anyone in the component industry. There is no glory. Only the satisfaction that you have influenced the advancement of technology in order to make the world a better place by providing it with a better option.
The McLaren is not simpy a vehicle. It is a philosophy adopted by people in the technology industry that embraces the promotion of technology for the benifet of all. Anyone can make a technology advanced automobile, but no one else is willing to throw cost to the wind and develop the best automobile that man and technology can imagine. Application is the norm, Imagination is success.
