Photo of the Day (9-30-09) {Gadling}

Sep 30th 2009 9:16PM "This photo taken in New Hampshire by terberman gives me hope that this year's fall foliage in Ohio will be splendid." - um, is it in NH or OH?

Are Gas Prices Really Dropping? {Gadling}

Sep 8th 2008 5:44PM The buck-fifty days are gone forever unless you have a VW that can run on vegetable oil.

Ummm, no, not true. Biodiesel is $5.30/gal here in San Francisco, while regular gas is at $3.93/gal. Biodiesel might be cheap in places like Brazil, but certainly not the US (yet.)

Durian, the $200 Fruit that Smells Like Gas {Luxist}

Jul 31st 2008 1:53PM Durian does NOT cost $200, you can get one for $12-14 in San Francisco's Chinatown. How to Open a Durian - http://blog.kosmonaut.net/?p=186

Durian, the food that the "Bizarre Foods" guy spit out {Gadling}

Apr 24th 2008 4:14PM I think durian is one of those "love it or hate it" things. My experience with it has been good so far. Should you decide to try it, here's a good tutorial on how to cut the fruit open - it's quite sharp and unwieldy, so it helps to know how to open it without masticating your hands.

US pilots jump ship; love Emirates {Gadling}

Apr 11th 2008 4:46PM I haven't flown Emirates yet, but am looking forward to trying them out. Main reason? I'm deaf, and they are currently the only airline offering closed captioning on their in-flight movies. I blogged about this here: http://www.stonedeafpilots.com/?p=89

Making kimchee at home, step-by-step {Slashfood}

May 8th 2007 1:37PM I made kimchi once, using a different recipe. It stinks, but it's so so so good. Ever stir-fry it with a can of tuna in oil? Good stuff.

The Apple iPhone {Engadget}

Jan 10th 2007 2:35AM I'm a deaf-tech consultant, and I'm very interested in learning more about this phone and whether it's deaf-friendly. I wrote a blog post here with a bullet point list of questions that I hope to get answered.
