May 23rd 2011 7:56PM I'm sorry but I disagree with you. As a teacher yes you have the children for a minimal amount of time but you AS a teacher are responsible for their education. WE as parents are responsible for discipline and social skills. YOU went to college to learn to TEACH. I pay your salary so they get an education through my taxes. Do I expect you to dicipline and teach social skills? No. I expect you to take care of their learning abilities. If by the time they reach High School, they fail then it is time for them to take responsibility for themselves. I paid a professional to learn this when my son was having a problem. I did what I was told and my son eventually graduated from college with a 3.99 GPA and is now a psychologist in a school system trying to deal with ill trained teachers!

May 23rd 2011 4:06PM I am 64 years old. Growing up all I ever wanted to be was a wife, a mother and I wanted to stay home, raise my children and keep the house going. That was my career. Thank you Gloria Steinem for making us feel guilty for wanting that. Houses had to be bigger, kids all had to have thier own room, we had to keep up with the Jones forcing mothers to go to work to keep the money flowing. The price we paid was having to put children into child care. Other people being responsible for bringing up their children in Heaven know's what knd of environment. Two women came to my door to sell me Encyclopedias. I told them that I understood they were doing a job but these books are out of date by the time they reach your house. And I also told them that responsibility for kids learning all these new things such as "new math"(what was wrong with the old math?). I did not go to school to become a teacher. I stayed home to take care of my kids (and other peoples kids because I became a provider). I pay taxes which pay teacher's salaries so my kids could learn what they needed in school. I know nothing about "new math" . Am I to blame? I would like to think that my choice to stay home and give my children the tools to become good adults was a good one. And my kids did great even though I did become a single parent due to a tragic accident. I am proud of my choice.

May 16th 2011 4:26PM I think you're right about taking the child out of the home. I don't think this punishment fits the crime. Yes mom made a really bad choice and there are many mothers out there that are doing the same thing but as much as pagents probably scaring children, taking this little girl out of the home could scar her more. I don't agree with the mother, I certainly am not a fan of putting these kids into pagents but I do think it's extreme to remove this child from her home.

May 13th 2011 4:34PM Finally....people are getting it that these parents of little kids in beauty pagents are over the top. From what I have seen, I think the mothers are living their lives through the kids. Of course if your child is in pagents from months old on, by the time they are 3, 4 even 5 they are used to it and have convinced themselves they love it. I think beauty pagents for children before the teen years should be abolished. Children of pagents look generally spoiled and have no boundaries, which I think makes them brattly little children. Just my opinion.

May 12th 2011 4:46PM Are you insane? Oh never mind I just read that you're only 14 and would have liked being in Beauty Pagents. I personally thing they are the worst things you can do to a toddler or child and you being only 14 obviously do not have any idea of the words "poor parenting". I do hope that by the time you are grown and having children of your own you will realize that this is a completely unacceptable action. My question is where did this woman get the botox and the needles?? And where is DCYS?

May 12th 2011 4:19PM OMG, what parent in their right mind does this to a child? And how does an eight year old decide she has wrinkles? We can't spank our children for fear of being charged with abuse yet this woman can inject poison into her child and nothing is done? I have so slowly lost respect in the judicial system over the years.
