Cingular outsources 411 service to Tellme.com {The Wireless Report}

Oct 10th 2006 5:42PM Thank GOD. 411 operators are so idiotic that I'd rather talk to TellMe's intelligent voice recognition system over them. They've been handling the duties for the toll free directory for a couple of years and I've had great results.

Boston Pizza's big hands campaign {Slashfood}

Sep 13th 2006 1:04PM I've always found it strange that so many pizza places also serve ribs. Maybe the owner's just obsess over sauces or something.

Grape juices that taste like wine {Slashfood}

Aug 24th 2006 7:11PM I grew up drinking Navarro Gewürtztraminer. I lived in Mendocino and everytime through 128 we'd stop there and get a bottle.

Thanks Mom, now I'm an alcoholic.

Not really, it's good stuff. VERY sweet though but definitely fun for the kids to have their own bottle.

Navarro's actual wines leave a little more to be desired.

McDonalds in a grocery store {Slashfood}

Aug 18th 2006 1:45PM Nothing like going to an upscale, Tuscan-style store for groceries and getting to enjoy that McDonald's/Wal-Mart smell as you pick out produce.

I like the idea of services inside of other services (Taco Bell in a Gas Station is God's gift to us), but if I'm at a grocery store, I'm there because I don't want anything to do with McDonald's. There must be a hefty rent because this HAS to take away from a store's Deli ticket.

McDonald's and Hummer cause a stir {Slashfood}

Aug 15th 2006 3:05PM McDonald's is spending a fortune on proving how eco-friendly they are and not completely destroying the planet, now they come out with a promotion for a vehicle that is the exact opposite of the message they're trying to send.

Maybe you shouldn't drink juice {Slashfood}

Aug 10th 2006 2:24PM Amazing that a doctor doesn't know the difference between sucrose and fructose and how the body metabolizes them differently.

Granted, eating the whole fruit is better, but you can still get vitamins from juice and your body disposes of the calories fairly easily. It's always a better choice than soda.

Founder of In-n-Out Burger passes on {Slashfood}

Aug 8th 2006 5:10PM I expect we'll see the long rumored IPO take place now. Esther and Harry are probably two of the nicest people to ever walk the planet, success couldn't have happened to a nicer couple and they will be sorely missed.

How to grill corn on the cob {Slashfood}

Jul 17th 2006 7:19PM Bobby Flay covered this on Boy Meets Grill.

His variation, shuck the corn down to a few layers, remove all the silk, soak in water for about 30 minutes, then grill on medium heat for about 20 minutes.

Hello? Am I above the legal limit? {The Wireless Report}

Jun 28th 2006 5:56PM Maybe if you're not totally trashed, but what if you've only had 2? Would be nice to get an idea of what you're going to blow *before* you get in the car.

Green Tea Vodka? {Slashfood}

Jun 23rd 2006 4:00PM I've had it and I like it a lot. Their recipe for a "Green Tini" (vodka and sake) is super tasty.
