Confessions of a Mother: Guilty Things Moms Secretly Do {Holidash News}

May 7th 2011 2:27AM Even if it's not what I would do, I don't see anything wrong with any of this EXCEPT for leaving a 2 year old alone and unattended in the bathtub. My friend's son inhaled enough water in the bath tub in just the time it took for her to go to the linen closet to get a towel and diaper and lotion and despite CPR he did not make it.

I'm not a parent, but I am a preschool teacher, and even though parents have different parenting styles, they know their own child(ren) better than anyone else and other people need to respect their role as parent.

Vybz Kartel Bleaches Skin, Compares Change to a 'Sun Tan' {The Boombox}

Jan 23rd 2011 1:14AM Well, he does have a point. Lightening the skin is not really different from someone with pale skin trying to change their skin color by going to a tanning salon. I don't have to like his music to agree with him.

Oscar Boycott Story 'Not True,' Says Tom Cruise's Spokesperson {PopEater}

Jan 10th 2011 12:52PM There's nothing wrong with not going to an event because you'd rather not run into someone you aren't on the best terms with at the time, that's their choice.

However, I'll bet you anything that Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus have a better sense of humor and laughed at the same skit.

Teens Banned from Trick or Treating {Holidash News}

Oct 29th 2010 12:10PM I've had trick or treating teens refuse to leave my doorstep until I gave them more candy than I had given them. One even asked for money and that's totally not cool. Perhaps my new policy will be candy for trick or treaters under 12 and toothbrushes, raisins, or pencils for anyone over 12.

Are airline passengers getting ruder? Deal with it! {Gadling}

Sep 9th 2010 9:35AM It's certainly not unique to the airline industry, though I suspect they do get a higher volume of rude customers simply because flying has become more of a hassle and stresses people out. The visible people in any industry--the ones customers take frustrations out on--rarely have anything to do with their frustrations and don't actually make the rules.

Mike's got the right idea. Xanax and booze. Sweet.

Confession -- My Abusive Ex Was Just Like Mel Gibson {Lemondrop}

Jul 29th 2010 8:58PM I think you'll find that quite a few women in abusive relationships get fed up and start taping the abusive tirades and stashing them for evidence. I certainly did as a way out. Often times abusers like this will have a very different public image and turn into something very different when you are alone with them. Mel's already slipped up and had his tantrums taped and released, but in my case having the taped evidence and photos was enough to get my boyfriend to let me leave without incident as he did not want anyone else to see or hear that other side of him.

Cats Versus Dogs -- Savings Experiment {WalletPop}

Jul 15th 2010 11:44PM There are a lot of variables here. I have a 5 pound dog and my friend has a 20 pound cat (not just a fat kitty but an all around larger breed of cat) and she spends much more in one month than I do for pet supplies. Food and kitty litter ain't cheap!

As for the comments about cats being lower maintenance, it depends very much on the individual animal and the lifestyle of the owner. My former roommate had cats and was always away so I ended up doing all the kitty stuff. Unlike most cats I've known, one of the cats needed constant attention and daily litter box cleaning was not something I enjoyed. It was definitely more work!

"Green" Shopping Bags Carry More Than Food {Slashfood}

Jun 26th 2010 11:55AM Well, if you are really being green and eating low on the food chain (not regularly purchasing raw meat) that contamination is much less likely. If you do purchase meat, using a plastic bag for that and your reusable shopping bags for everything else is much better than not using resuable bags at all.

8-Year-Old Removed From Class for Using Olive Oil Hair Product {BV Black Spin}

Jun 7th 2010 11:14PM I've smelled that Organic Olive Oil crap and it smells horrible! I would never use that in my hair and if I could smell it on someone else I wouldn't be thrilled. When I was in high school, I remember friends of mine getting sent home for being too heavily doused in perfume so schools definitely have the authority to limit the fragrances that students (and teachers) wear.

The Controversy Over 'Busty' Barbie and Our Idolatry of Hookers {BV Black Spin}

May 26th 2010 9:34AM They had slutty clothes for barbie way back in the stone age when I was a kid. This is nothing new. Worried about racial stereotypes with your daughter's toys? How about those Bratz dolls?
