Dec 22nd 2009 3:34PM Ah, the paradox of what looks good vs what is functional. It is sometimes difficult to achieve a blend.
I think a nice way to prevent these costly errors (think of the cost of retro-fitting a bathroom x number of hotel rooms = OUCH $$) would be at least review the design with a cross-section of typical guests. Afterall, those of us who like the "Ice Hotel" are probably not the same as those who stay at a Best Western.
I wish the author had done some more fact-finding and solicited from the hotels the number of complaints they received for the features she described.
