May 7th 2011 11:30AM Hey Brynn, Here's some helpful words, I hope. (I am a trainer) People that are trying and or want to lose weight tend to try doing to much at once, and it becomes overwhelming. First, pick a time of day that you can workout, whether it's first thing in the morning, or at night when everything is settled down in your household. If there is such a thing as settled down when you have kids. LOL. By the way, when I say first thing in the morning, I mean FIRST thing. Before everyone is up and slowing your process. Make this part of your everyday life. Let your family know in order to do this, you need their support. Now, so many people try starting to eat better, and exercise at the same time, it's a formula for failure! (Notice I don't uuse the word diet, and never EVER will) Start the workout program first. Believe it or not, the eating better seems to naturally come hand in hand when working out regularly. The mind and body begin react to in a way that you will almost automatically start to eat better. You will start thinking that you are working out so hard that you don't want to eat poorly and take away from anything you have done in the gym. ( And for the record, when working out hard, you can fall off the wagon from time to time.) One simple thing you can start when changing your eating habits (rule of thumb) is not to eat anything made with white flour, and cut out mayo, and butter, and go from there. Last but not least, don't keep telling yourself that "I will start tomorrow", tomorrow never comes. Start right away, and just keep going. GoodLuck!!
