Jan 22nd 2010 3:48AM To all those who say we should simply overlook the errors in the story and give the writer top marks for her attempt, I say: I'm teaching English to high school kids, and 'overlooking' the errors is NOT helping them or anyone who will eventually have to read what they've written! And where was the editor? Or are we in the era of 'anything goes'? Does this extend to the medical profession also...hey doc, I appreciate your attempt to cure me? Get real!
Student Banned From High School Yearbook For Making Funny Face {ParentDish}
Dec 7th 2009 5:16AM My high-school yearbook had 'serious' student photos AND a section for funny ones....have they changed? 'Do your own thing' is great but there's a time and place for everything. She should apologize, have a 'normal' photo taken, and ask that the funny one be included in some other part of the yearbook (at the school's discretion). I don't admire her mother for not realizing that conforming isn't a blasphemy!
