High Tide Heels: for the sexy scuba diver {Stylelist}
Jul 7th 2007 9:53AM They are obviously fake. You'd have to have a super thin foot. There is no structure, no way these could support the weight of an average woman. And when you view the enhanced photo, you can see lots of "art" with price tags in the background. Obviously an art store of some kind. But absolutely creative. I bet having these in the window has increased their traffic significantly.

May 14th 2007 10:30AM I love Nancy Grace. I may actually start watching the View if she is on it.
Is Luke Walton About to Start Dating Britney Spears? {Fanhouse NBA Blog}
Apr 11th 2007 8:33AM You know, there's nothing wrong with just dating. Not every date has to turn into a long-term commitment. It doesn't have to end up in bed either, but there is nothing wrong with going out and enjoying the company of others. For some people, part of the path of recovery is getting out and being social and dating. Being put into tempting situations teaches you whether you're ready to tackle them or if you need more work before getting out and about.
Britney, get out there and do what you want. Don't worry about everyone else. The world is like traffic. It sees a wreck and everyone has to slow down and look. It's none of their business. It's your life, enjoy it.

Apr 10th 2007 10:22PM If you've got the money to buy a $16K drink, I'm sure you've got an extra $16K to spend on the needy. Most people that are that wealthy donate thousands of dollars to charity every year (some for the tax right-off, others because they general care, and some for all of the above), and they have every right to spend that kind of money on vacation, or any other time for that matter. People with a lot of wealth have usually worked very hard for their money, or their families have work very hard. Anyone can achieve great wealth, however, it generally calls for a lot more motivation, work, and time than the common man cares to dedicate. People usually end up missing out on everything else in life while they are building their wealth, and once that wealth is reached and there are others to run their companies, they try to catch up on all they missed, and buying a loved one a $16K drink in order to treat them to a special ring with a great story, is one of the ways they feel they can regain the time lost.
If there wasn't a market for this type of thing, it wouldn't exist.
I obviously can't speak for everyone of wealth, but in my line of work (accounting), and current position (CFO), I've encountered enough people of this status to have developed a pretty good sense of how a lot of them are.
In response to one comment, it is definitely a special way to propose marriage. I, however, would want to take a look at the diamond ahead of time, or at least receive paperwork with it certifying the quality. And for those that can't afford something as lavish as this, you can always stick the ring you've purchase in her drink at a special dinner, or whatever the occasion calls for.

Apr 2nd 2007 2:53PM #14... if you're one step away from eviction, try cancelling your internet connection and selling your computer. And if you're on the computer at work, you're probably breaking company policy, not a good idea, losing your job won't help. And if you're at the library, try using the internet to find a job or a place you can afford. If you're that close to not having a roof over your head you need to change your priorities from looking and crap news like this to making your situation better. Either that or you're lying and just wanted to make your post seem more important and get a pity party going.
I think alot of the music that has come out lately is crap, but if people are willing to spend money on it, then so be it. Kudos to anyone that can get people to fork over $16 for a cd that stinks. If you're a smart enough business person, then you deserve all that money. And if you're short on cash cause you're spending your money on music like this, then you've gotten what you deserve.
I used to live paycheck to paycheck, barely hanging on, but instead of whinning about it abd wishing everyone would fork over their hard earned money to help me, I did something about it. I went back to school, trying to make my schedule work with my daughter's, who was in pre-school at the time. I worked while I was in school and made time for my family. Then I spent 40 hours a week looking for a job that was a good fit, and now, 2 1/2 years later, I'm the CFO of a multi-million dollar family corporation. No more paycheck to paycheck. No more wondering how to pay the water bill or put food on the table. In the process I met a wonderful man and my daughter and I and he and his daughter are living happily ever after. If I wanted to spend $500,000 on a tacky ugly necklace, I'd have every right to. And so does Lil' John

Mar 7th 2007 10:39PM oh my goodness. so everyone who has taken the time to read all of the comments probably already knew the correct usage of the words. Good thing everyone posted their opinion, which was pretty much the same as the opinion before theirs. So glad I'm in accounting instead of flying.

K-Fed Super Bowl commercial controversy {Slashfood}
Jan 29th 2007 2:53PM I went from a waitress to a cashier to now being CEO of a multi-billion dollar company. There are alot of people out there that think if someone works in the service industry, they are there to serve them. In a sense this is true, but that doesn't mean that person doesn't deserve respect. Working in fast food is generally accepted as a teenager's summer job, a students part time job, or a job for a less-than-skilled worker. But lets be thankful that these people are actually working. You see an adult working being the counter at Burger King, don't necessary think of them as some loser who couldn't find anything better. Look at them as someone who just as well could be sitting at home waiting for their welfare check to come in the mail. There has to be jobs for everyone, and just because this one is at the bottom of the ladder doesn't mean it's a bad job. There are people perfectly content doing what they are doing.
But this doesn't mean that the commercial is demeaning. It's funny. We as American's are losing our sense of humor. There's nothing we can say or do that doesn't offend someone. We all need to learn to laugh at ourselves and our situations sometimes. If we can lighten up about our own lives, maybe that will convince the people around us to do the same. After all, if we can't laugh at ourselves, we shouldn't be laughing at others either.

Jan 20th 2007 10:43PM My bf sits to pee and never makes a mess. I thought it was so weird at first, but when I realized I wasn't cleaning pee off the floor all the time I grew grateful of this trait. Also, we always put the lid down after we are done, it makes the bathroom look so much better.
