If they were to abandon these characteristics, the brand would devolve into just another shopping cart for the middle aged.

the 2002 7-series is a particular favourite.
but now that Mr. Bangle is gone, it seems that BMW doesn't have the right direction anymore. the new 5 and 7 series are probably good proof of this.

that's what's so smart about those cars - when the traffic gets too bad on the streets, you can just hop the curb and drive on the sidewalk.
