Nov 4th 2012 5:19PM We in the USA have in the 2004-2007 period gone through a major housing bubble where a $100,000 house escalated into a $285,000 house only to be worth $60,000 today in 2012. There are tens of thousands of houses for sale across the USA, and many of these are in the south, southwest, southeast, and other popular wintering areas; here is the problem, most are SOLD.. YEP, in cities like Phoenix, Las Vegas, Tucson, etc., the houses sold faster than each could be listed, SOLD to FOREIGNERS.. The Australians, British, and Canadians have been buying up every Short Sale, Foreclosure, REO, etc., that can be found in the $20,000 to $80,000 price range.
This is great for the RE Brokers and Salespeople, and for the Banks, but is disaster for the home owners and those Americans that are looking to BUY and OCCUPY as the only thing left is usually high priced or total garbage. Now, what do you think the NON-OCCUPIED FOREIGN OWNED Homes will be selling for within the next few months? Right, ten to fifty thousand more than the purchase price, and what do you think is going to happen. Yep, a total repeat of the 2004-2008 RE Boom and Bust market, only this time the houses will be TRASH as without being Occupied the criminal element will be moving in and trashing the homes, stripping the places, growing or creating illegal substances, or just having fun destroying.
This is a sorry situation, and the USA Real Estate and Banking Communities should be ashamed of themselves for letting this happen, again...

Nov 4th 2012 4:41PM Seems to me that everyone here is missing the author's message, that the Real Estate Agents are NOT properly informing the renters or buyers of property defects.. I am current in the process of trying to purchase a home and have found that two of the 'great values' I was looking at were sinking into the muck each was built upon, something the Real Estate brochures 'failed' to mention. Checking the law, it says that buyer and seller has to come to a contract before the buyer is allowed to see the 'Seller's Disclosure' statement, and then if the buyer sees something wrong, he or she can counter or cancel.. Drug houses, wells running dry, foundations cracking, buildings sinking, radon, etc., are all things that can make for a n uninhabitable home, and should be stated up front... period...

Apr 28th 2010 10:15AM I love to drive, fly, or take the train, but mostly I find that driving is good for short under 250 mile per day trips, flying is good for 2,000 mile trips, and the train is good for 400 to 3000 mile trips.

There are millions of people that were 59 to 60 years of age when this 'corporate rip off' started, and when the UE runs out, and the bank savings accounts are used up, these people will have to go on Social Security at age 62, and take a 10, 20, 30 or more year 25% reduction in their paid for and earned benefits.
Thanks MR. BUSH, we really appreciated your eight years of wars, decreasing employment, decreased investment in America, unfunded debts, and deregulation policies.
Now, do you people want to solve the problems, then Support President Obama, he is trying to work for YOU.
Also, since it is Corporate America that benefits from educated employees, we should do away with school taxes for the individual and CHARGE CORPORATE AMERICA for all USA Education, you will see college cost drop like a rock the next day.

EVERY ONE of these expenditures KEEPS some NON-Government person WORKING.
Also, what government services do you wish to give up, the Military, the Police, the Fire Department, the Street and Road Departments, the Water and Sewer Departments, the FBI, CIA, CDC, etc., which?

The House of Representatives have PASSED 250 BILLS to HELP AMERICA and its WORKERS get back on track, the SENATE REPUBLICANS and a few NON-Democrat Democrats are holding each in HOSTAGE.

Apr 15th 2010 2:43PM Business was audited, took two weeks to put together the paperwork, went to the 8th floor of the IRS building with a 4-draw file cabinet, spent 8 hours with auditor, and was told I owed $95.00. I asked him to recheck his number, and he said he would. A week later I got a check from the IRS for $5.00.
That was the last time they decided to audit my business.
Pays to have the paperwork, and the paperwork trail. ..
