The Word 'Retard': Stop Using It {ParentDish}

Mar 6th 2011 6:23PM I need to retard the spark on my old car, or it won't start. It is spark impaired. . Is retarded okay? I retarded the spark on my old jalopy, and it started fine. Is Jalopy okay, or is it a slur on the folks who had to sell apples during hard times, and they sold jellie apples from an old broken pushcart, and those folks yelled out "JELLY APPLES", and in broken English it sounded like "jalopies", so we named the cart a jalopy and now your old run down car is called a jalopy. Is that okay, ON and on give it a rest.

Go chase a politician who is stealing our money. Give to a charity who will feed the poor, and stop making me pay for everything.

on on on...

To call someone who is truely imparied ANY NAME, is NOT NICE AT ALL!. It is discourteous, downright rude and I would be totally indignant at someone who used that word on a really imparied person. NOT on a person who is being stupid for ANY reason. There is a difference. I refuse to carry a book because I know right from wrong, and so do most people. You are not going to make people change unless you start charging them money. Remember, there are lots more horses a$$es around here than there are horses.

The Prepper Movement -- a Growing Network Preparing for the World's End {Asylum}

May 30th 2010 2:11PM I am a loner, but I totally believe in being prepared. What is wrong with stocking up on some 'survival' foods and some other items? We just had a few days here of no Natural gas here in the area due to a 'leak', or drop in pressure. Many places were scrambling for gas grills etc.

We have hurricanes, you have forest fires, volcanos, tornadoes and tsunamis.

Where can you live to avoid natural disasters? I dunno.

And what about politics, economic and social disasters? Take a look at our big cites. How long would your grocery store have food etc for you if they were cut off for ANY number of reasons.
Ask the manager, three days, and shelves are empty.

So, if we are smart and wrong, we have all the little things we need t 'weather the storm', until some sort of normalcy comes back.

If we are wrong, and we are actually living near nirvana or utopia or Shangra-la, then all you have done is kept some picnic food that you can devour anytime, and the freeze dried stuff is good. And what is wrong with using your water filter?

And why not have some gold or silver coins for money. Heckers, all that stuff does is go up in value, so if it is not needed, well it is fun to klink and then later sell at a profit.

I see great tribulation coming as we continue to shoot ourselves in the collective foot, and if we survive our own insanity, then you have a closet full of neato stuff.

And some peace of mind.

Self protection... well, that is certain, it is not a bad idea to get some of that, you decide how much and of what kind. Personally, I like the derringer that shoots a .45 slug, or a 410 shotgun shell out of the same pistol. The big stuff is too hard to handle, expensive, and ammo price is nasty. Just enough tot get their attention will be sufficient. Shot guns are fine for night in the house,if you knwo how to use one.

Happy worrying.
