St. Vincent Slams Lilith Fair, Lady GaGa and 'Sexism of Lowered Expectations' {Spinner}
Aug 20th 2009 12:44AM It's easy to put other artists down, but I'd rather focus on making music that is creative and unpredictable. That's why I took on this song:
It's a shame the best music has to come from such self-destructive souls.
Michael Jackson has had a collosal impact on music, and the music crosses multiple genres, as is apparent in the country remake of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean":

Kourtney K. Talks About the Decision to Have Baby {PopEater}
Aug 20th 2009 12:19AM My wife and I put off having a baby for the longest time, but we're truly blessed with the child we now treasure.
On the other hand, if it's not in the right context, having a baby, can be a very complicated event, like the one depicted in the song, Billie Jean, for example:
It's a shame the best music has to come from such self-destructive souls.

Could China's fiscal stimulus package increase U.S. interest rates? {BloggingStocks}
Jan 14th 2009 9:24PM The ideal stimulus package, be it from China or the US, would instill hope, and the hope would be based on realistic outcomes. I like any perspective on the economic crisis that introduces an element of hope. As a psychologist, my take on this phenomenon is that it is psychological, based on fear.
The loss of the economy, as we knew it prior to this recent crash, involves a grieving process that I believe will culminate with recovery.
The catalyst for that recovery is hope. Follow the message contained in these songs and you'll understand what I mean.

Dec 24th 2008 11:39PM More power to her. It's been a rough year for her, and that's an understatement. Here are a couple of song samples I hope will bring all a little comfort and cheer.

Top 20 Worst Songs Ever: No. 2 {Spinner}
Nov 9th 2008 2:09AM The treatment that Vanilla Ice received is the greatest example of discrimination against whites in the music business that I've ever come across. Still, I too was guilty of dissing Ice Ice Baby with this song:
Meltin' Down the Ice
Dr BLT copyright 2008
the ice man thinks
that the ice man's clever
and I have to admit
his very first endeavor
To the Extreme
is a rap fanatic's dream
chills like a bowl of
vanilla ice cream
but I wonder
if he ever felt the thunder
of the shrink
from the land down under
I rock the mic
like the hammer to the spike
I light the flame in your heart to ignite
all the rhythm and the beat from the bandstand
make you wanna jump in the air
and do a hand stand
Vanilla's not bad
and the groove is pretty nice
but I shrink him down to size when I'm
meltin' down the ice...

John McCain Votes for Torture {News Bloggers}
Feb 19th 2008 1:14AM Merle Haggard wrote a song for Hillary. I used to believe this:

Now I'm still a big fan, but I wonder if Merle is going soft, and I've written a song as an answer to his song about Hillary.
Go John McCain. This one was written and recorded by yours truly, just for you!
