What Not to Say to a Military Wife {MyDaily}

Apr 13th 2011 7:12AM Sometimes it's best to just say: "We're praying for him/her" or "We're thinking of ALL of you. I t's not a matter of being sensitive or insensitive... it takes a special kind of strength to belong to a military family, just as it takes something special to be a Soldier, Sailor, Marine or Airman. You're not going to drive a military wife to tears by saying something stupid and most will understand that an un-thought-out comment was not intended to offend, insult or anything else except to convey a kind thought or express concern or even gratitude. It is personally gratifying to me to see people support the troops, cheer them in airports, say how proud they are of them... I remember how I found myself unable to respond a couple years back to a guy who noticed my Marine Corps T-shirt and said: "Thank you for your service." It choked me up. I was with two friends who had served in the same area and the man's sincerity was so evident that all any of us could do was nod. We'd never experienced those kind sentiments before. The guy was about 30. I hope he understood how much his heartfelt words ment to us... considering the fact he wasn't even born when I returned from Vietnam in 1971. ... No, our homecoming was a lot different.

What Not to Say to a Military Wife {MyDaily}

Apr 13th 2011 7:07AM You are an absolute genius... I can tell by your screen name that you are a highly educated nursery school graduate with vast experience in both the military and world affairs. I'll bet your mother and fathers are so proud .....

What Not to Say to a Military Wife {MyDaily}

Apr 13th 2011 6:58AM I really doubt you have a friend who is a USAF general and if you do, you should have let him or her read that post before you pushed the submit button. The draft ended more than 35 years ago. All American troops today are volunteers.

Oprah Won't Publicly Support Obama in 2012 Election {PopEater}

Apr 7th 2011 5:15PM Dee: For every white man qualified to be president, I can name a black man qualified to be president. Barack Obama is not one of them however. It has nothing to do with race. It has everything to do with patriotism, experience and desire to represent the US on the world stage with pride, dignity and courage, of which he has none. Hitler was intelligent. Hideki Tojo was intelligent. Edward the First was intelligent. Ivan the terrible and Vlad Dracule were brilliant. Intelligence, though important, is not everything.

The Classicist: VO Guns Debuts the Falcon, World's Most Expensive Rifle, for $820,000 [EXCLUSIVE] {Luxist}

Mar 29th 2011 7:52AM Why did you bother to read the article. The word rifle was clearly in the title. Or are you one of those terminally insecure twits who has nothing better to do than look for reasons to whine and cry?
I know lots of people who own guns and have never fired them at anything more than a piece of paper...
Guns are made to shoot. The person holding the gun decides what to shoot at.
Hammers are made to strike, knives are made to cut, baseball bats are made to hit, cars are made to drive... the person controlling them decides the end result.
You can act intelligently, benevolently or criminally... or stupidly like you with your keyboard...

Boy Says He Has Been to Heaven, Where Everyone Has Wings {ParentDish}

Mar 22nd 2011 6:41AM As politely as I can possibly put it... Slayer, you're a jerk. I bet your mother and fathers are proud of the pile of "poo" they created...

New Car Seat Policy Keeps Kids in Booster Seats Much Longer {ParentDish}

Mar 22nd 2011 6:29AM I remember my carseat from 61 years ago... It had a steering wheel, a horn and a stickshift. It was hung over the back of the front bench seat with two lat hooks, similar to what is used to hang flowerboxes on fences today. It faced forward. If my nose was running my mother could easily lean over an wipe it at a red-light because there was no seat belt to restrain her. I had 3 siblings and more than 40 cousins, none of whom had anything more substantial than that carseat to protect them. We also didn't have a host of activist politicians telling what was good for us, what we should eat, ordering us to wear helmets on our tricycles, threatening to jail our mothers if they left us in the care of an older sibling while they went to the store for a quart of milk or deciding whether it was constitutional to say the pledge to the flag or a morning prayer in school.
HOW DID WE EVER SURVIVE THAT WAY???

What's the Hidden Message on Brad Pitt's New Diamond Pendant? {PopEater}

Feb 28th 2011 7:38AM When are you whining, chubby, bespectacled, mini-van driving, dime store-romance reading Branjolina bashers going to grow up and get a life of your own instead of engaging in this adolescent name-calling in defense of "poor, cute, Jen"... Get over it. Jennifer Aniston didn't care if you lived or died before Brad left her and she cares even less about you now. How many kids did you adopt and how much did you give away to charities in your entire lifetime...?

Actor Jon Hamm: The Tea Party Is "Racist" (VIDEO) {AOL TV}

Sep 20th 2010 8:00AM This constant silliness that suggests the Tea Party movement is racist has to stop. I have no use for Biden or Pelosi. Does that make me anti-white?
Besides, no tea-partyer has ever said anything about Barack Obama that Hillary hadn't already said during the Primary Campaign.
