NYC Named America's Richest City With Over 650,000 Millionaires {Luxist}
Aug 5th 2010 1:05PM I agree with blueeyeslpn. It is almost unbelievable that with so many people still out of work, school closings due to lack of funds, and a completely screwed up transportation system, that this is possible. It makes me sick!!! as my mother always said "the rich get richer as the poor get poorer" Aah the American way of life:)
'Will Marry for Health Insurance' -- One Woman's Desperate Quest {Lemondrop}
Feb 9th 2010 9:36AM WOW Texas, someone has a chip on their shoulder. You make it sound so very easy to just go out and get a "real" job and then be blessed with health coverage. As if it is that easy, especially in the state of our economy. I work 50-60 hrs a week in a multi-billion dollar global agency in Manhattan and still have no health coverage. This women contributes to society, is not on public assistance, and with that said, has to also deal with a debilitating illness while she goes through her daily life. Think before you speak...
'Will Marry for Health Insurance' -- One Woman's Desperate Quest {Lemondrop}
Feb 9th 2010 9:21AM I am glad to see someone coming forward and exploiting our health-care system in a very human way that many can relate to. I have also been uninsured for over 8 years, yet I work hard everyday and have no government assistance whatsoever. I think it is a shame to see so many people on here writing negative comments. Obviously you are the lucky ones that most likely have good health coverage and do not know what it is like to live without it. It's finally nice to see "youtube" bringing us something positive for a change. TERRI, THANKS FOR BEING A BRAVE VOICE!!!
SmackDown: Should Parents Bring Babies Into a Bar? {ParentDish}
Jan 25th 2010 10:14AM I have worked as a bartender for ten years and I can honestly tell you that very few people like when a kid is at the bar. I'm not just talking babies, I'm talking youngsters in general. The bar is not a place for a child. Not only is it promoting bad habits such as drinking and swearing, patrons and bartenders alike should not have to censor themselves and be put in an uncomfortable situation while paying to drink and relax (the point to being at the bar in the first place). Don't forget, many people are actually at the bar to get away from their screaming kids at home.
Ad Rant: Tiger Woods fell victim to his branding {WalletPop}
Dec 15th 2009 4:01PM The brands that he endorses rely on him to keep a positive image within the public eye. he gets paid a lot of money to do what he does and to keep up his end of the bargain. Of course they are jumping ship, they can't sell him anymore, and why would they want to, it would be bad business. He got careless and made a mess of both his personal life and career. it is unfortunate that someone so talented in one aspect of his life could be so profoundly stupid in another. Yes, everyone makes mistakes and he is human, so like anyone else he needs to suffer the consequences of these mistakes. I do not feel bad for him, I feel bad for his children that one day will have to come to grips with why and how their father fell from grace.
Young Designer Uses 'Normal-Sized' Models at London Fashion Week - Casting Director and Stylist Walk Out {Stylelist (Main)}
Sep 22nd 2009 9:32AM I am absolutely amazed that this is even an issue. It's sad that so many comments actually condone this kind of behavior. People need to realize that not everybody can be super skinny without destroying their body to get that way. Model thin is ultimately unhealthy for anybody. It is disgraceful that my children will have to grow up in a society so shallow...
