The Omphoy Resort Opens In Palm Beach {Luxist}

Sep 20th 2009 8:53AM I had lunch at the new Omphoy last week. The food was good but the service was slow. In fact, the service throughout the property was mediocre. Granted, I did not stay overnight. The staff needs to put on the smiles and be aware that every guest is measuring your performance. You are "on stage" when at work. Unlike Miami Beach, this neck of the woods has extremely high service standards. Your neighbors at the Four Seasons and The Ritz-Carlton are consistent performers in the service arena. Remember, anyone can open a luxury hotel but few can deliver the service. That will be key if you expect to have a market share in Palm Beach.

The spa is nice. The staff there was very kind and inviting. The staff was quick to welcome me and provide a tour.

The decor is very nice. The feeling was very Miami Beach with dark colors, sexy looking furniture and flat screen TV's, etc. I do like the pool area despite the fact it is not directly on the beach.

Good luck to the team at Omphoy. The season is looming...this will establish your reputation. Make it count!
