Merriman Suspended Four Games for Steroids? {Fanhouse NFL Blog}
Oct 23rd 2006 12:28AM I love when guys like Merriman do their little announcements when they play in a prime time game on a national stage...the players get to to that little intro blurb to introduce the audience to the offense and defense. This putz was given the nickname "Lights Out"...and it was funny to see him get all jacked when he was saying his name during the Monday night game 2 weeks ago. Shawn "LIGHTS OUT" Merriman. Now it looks like "LIGHTS OUT" for four games and his credibility and career have just been stained, because the success that he showed was due in part to steroid use. Way to make a name for yourself. The Chargers team is kind of like the Raiders retarded little brother. Probably couldn't put a playoff contender together combining both rosters. WAY TO GO!
Are the Ravens for Real? {Fanhouse NFL Blog}
Oct 2nd 2006 2:05PM So far the Ratbirds have played 3 teams that need to be checked for a pulse, and 1 team that seems to continue their tradition of "playing not to lose" instead of playing to win. The Browns forced them to win in the final two minutes, and the Chargers...well, they just beat themselves. The reality will strike when you have to play division games against the Steelers and Bengals, and 4 losses could come just as easily as the current 4 wins. Lets not forget about Steve McNair, and the fact that he's never won anything in his career. In his prime he wasn't good enough, and he still isn't. I could mention that he's about 3-4 good hits away from being a burden to this team, and maybe even retired. Honest opinion, is that he won't last the entire season. You Ratbird fans will all be facing the music as you watch the division lead eventually come crashing in on you, there's too much football left, and most of it against better quality opponents.
2006 Bengals Preview {Fanhouse NFL Blog}
Sep 7th 2006 11:03AM Once the weather turns colder, we'll see just how great Carson's knee responds. Pre-Season means diddly, and he's got to play 4 solid quarters of football in consecutive weeks to really see what kind of "football" shape he's in. The bigger problem will be the off-field distractions ( not only for the Bengals ) but they are definitely a team in contention for the division again. This will lie solely on the knee and arm of Carson Palmer. Honest opinion... Carson takes a digger before December, and so will Duante Culpepper...modern medicine is great, but both of these guys are 2-3 good hits or twists away from collecting a pension. They both had serious serious injuries.
