Often they are guarded, no doubt because they've been approached only for their looks, but once you've gained their trust, they'll often open up and prove themselves to be as genuine as you would hope them to be. They have the same fears and hopes and dreams as the rest of us. It's a perfect example of what the government always does, i.e. give the impression of doing something while being ineffective at doing much at all. How long will it be before we are bodyscanned, poked and prodded everywhere we go? OMG!! What if someone carries a bomb into Grand Central Station?!!! Better put body scanners at the entrance!
Did anybody ever see a guard at a courthouse that couldn't be fooled--or overpowered--or outrun--by nearly anybody? Again, government giving the impression of doing something while being totally ineffective.
What a joke! And you people who believe we are any more secure are living in a fantasy world.
