Ultimate Ladies' Room Luxury {Luxist}

Dec 21st 2006 8:36AM Great idea, but 5 Pounds is a bit much --- that's over US$10. 2-3 Pounds would be more reasonable. Maybe it will be so popular that the stores/restaurants in the area will get the hint & spruce up their own powder rooms. I agree with the first poster --- Britain has very cramped stalls with terrible toilet paper.

BMI: the good, the bad and the ugly {Stylelist}

Sep 24th 2006 7:12PM Let's face fact --- the public likes thin women. That's the only reason this trend continues. There have been numerous studies showing that thin women are preferred as print models. Even plus-size consumers (like me) have stated their preference for thin vs. plus-size models in magazines and catalogs (even when the magazines are specifically targeted to the plus-size industry). So, stop blaming "gay designers" (can you say stereotype?) and the "fashion industry" and point the finger where it belongs --- on the people who keep fashion magazines in business, who drive the ratings for plastic surgery tv shows, who keep the crazy diet fads coming. In other words, us!

What is size 0X? {Stylelist}

Sep 17th 2006 10:54PM For those of you looking for classic, age-appropriate plus-style sizes: I've found that Talbot's Woman has some of the best fitting, highest quality clothes around. Yes, it's pricey, but you get what you pay for. And once you figure out your size (the clothes run true-to-size or slightly roomy) you rarely have to set foot in a store --- almost my entire wardrobe is mail order.

Politeness on Planes {Gadling}

Sep 2nd 2006 8:11PM As a courtesy, veteran travellers know not to put the seat back at all in coach --- ever. Other pet peeves: People who take off their shoes. People who bring fast food on board (the aroma instantly travels throughout the cabin). The person behind me who uses my seat-back as leverage to get up, and practically gives me whiplash when he lets it go. People who perform personal grooming activities in their seats. People who live their lives out loud on their cell phones. I could go on..........
