May 30th 2011 1:14PM PRAY FOR THE STORM TO END
Now we sip the dregs o sorrow,
Search for an end we cannot see.
We had hoped for a glad tomorrow
That would make all nations free.
Today we’re moved to sadness,
Caught in the trap of a dare,
Perched on a pinnacle of madness,
Chased by the ghost of dark despair.
All the powers of hell now meet us
And our days are sunk in night.
We fear that judgment will defeat us,
For a cause not based on right.
We must call the soldiers back
As we pray for the storm to end.
But first we must stop the attack
And make time for “Peace” to mend.

This poem was written to explain my feelings about the war in Iraq.
I demonstrated against the war in the ‘60s as a part of the peace movement that helped eliminate the draft. My sons were spared from being drafted into a war they did not believe in. Many of the soldiers of today did not choose to go to war. It is up to us as a society to fight for their right to come home. My hope is that these words can reach into the heart of those who believe that we need to give peace a chance to heal. As a poet, I have been moved by a spirit of faith in humanity. I firmly believe that words can reach beyond our years, and hope that my poems can reach the hearts of many.
Aquarium coffee table by Aqua Design {Luxist}
Dec 27th 2005 4:49PM What a beautiful idea...and so very practical since most acquariums take up too much floor space anyway. How do they compare in price to regular aquariums? Do you make a round one? I remember my Aunt had one almost 50 years ago, but she was always years ahead of her time. Good luck on a wonderful item.
