Pretec's bulletproof iDisk meets its match: .500 Magnum {Engadget}

Feb 18th 2007 5:58PM FWIW Tom, (From Federal Premium Ballistics)

Rifle - 45 gr. 22 Hornet - ~700 foot-pounds of energy at 10 yards

Handgun - 275 gr. 500 S&W - ~1600 foot-pounds of energy at 10 yards

I know which one I would rather be in front of. Yes some rifles are more powerful but if you think a .22 can do more damage than the 500 S&W round at short distances you have obviously never bothered to learn anything about firearms.

1UP likes Gran Turismo HD's teaser skills {Joystiq}

Jan 2nd 2007 1:54AM The Gran Turismo series is the best racing simulator out there. Period. Want to know why? Physics. They actually have realistic physics. And the game actually challenges you. Forza is fun... for an arcade racing simulator. Sure you can harp about how F2 is going to be better than GT5, but can you back that up? Right now it looks like we have a playable High-def GT game demo (Free!) and 4 titles in the series that have consistantly improved. And we have 1 Forza title that was fun average. Need For Speed Hot Pursuit was more realistic. When you can come up with a better argument than Forza has bodykits, damage and MIGHT look better when the new one comes out IF you have HD, let all of us real driving fans know. Until then we'll be playing our GT4 and GT HD demo.

New key fob from GM a supercomputer {Autoblog}

Nov 15th 2006 10:28PM You guys need to cool your jets. I think this is a good idea. Theres a reson aftermarket companies put remotes like this out there: people want them, and want to use them. This way, GM is making the money, and now you still keep your warranty. But i guess thats a bad thing right? And dont go saying that a certain other keyfob is better if you dont know. I work as a valet, and handle keys all day long. The audi/vw/benz switchblade keys love to come apart at the seems, as do the lexus keys. The buttons like to get wholes in the Benz keys that use rolling codes. Even the 911's fob gets worn way too easily. You know who's key fobs hold up best? GM. Yeah, the 1995 Yukon's buttons maybe faded but they are still there. The Saab rolling code 9-3 keys dont come apart. So if there was one company who i think can make a key fob right, it's GM.

And get off the whole worst interiors kick. You go hop in and out of 50 cars a day and see which you think are worse. Ill take a new tahoe over any ford product anyday

Joystiq Poll: Blu-ray, yay or nay? {Joystiq}

Jun 16th 2006 3:00AM Three words: Betamax Versus VHS.

Obviously Sony knows what they are doing, because if they can make a format mainstream, whether it's better or not, then they win the format war for a while. And if they are making Blu-Ray stand alone players, that means more money for them. I think Sony is smarter than anyone is giving them credit for. Oh, and DVD's may be fine for now, but what about 5 years from now late in the product cycle? High definition high capacity discs will be incredibly important.
