Sundance Review: Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired {Cinematical}

Feb 28th 2008 7:43PM I guess you didn't see the film? He did plead guilty to a crime with an indeterminate sentence, he knew when he accepted the plea that the judge could choose to sentence him harshly, regardless of the probation report.

Sundance Review: Trouble the Water {Cinematical}

Jan 29th 2008 4:01AM Wow. I couldn't believe it when she started singing her song, and it went on, and on, and on, and on. This was definitely the low point of what I already found a very boring film. To me, a documentary is supposed to inform, and there's nothing the least bit informative about someone just singing a seemingly endless, repetitive song.

Sundance Review: Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired {Cinematical}

Jan 29th 2008 3:50AM I did see the film, and Polanski pleaded guilty to a crime with an indeterminate sentence up to 50 years. So if the judge had decided, notwithstanding the probation report, to give him several years in prison, that would have been entirely proper.

Hilary Duff's Birthday Mercedes {Luxist}

Sep 30th 2007 7:34PM Hmm, she says she's a terrible driver. I have a great idea: let's get her a big SUV so she can just crush the little people she runs into.

47 View Street, Estate of the Day {Luxist}

Mar 26th 2007 1:39PM This is in Los Altos. An acre in Los Altos Hills would be much less pricey. It's virtually unique to have such a big house and property in such a convenient location. But the price still seems ridiculous. The property does back up to a condo for senior citizens.

French Heart-Shaped Sugar {Luxist}

Oct 13th 2006 5:14PM The price per cube is not $25, it is 39 cents.

Telluride Dispatch: Day Three {Cinematical}

Sep 5th 2006 3:25AM Any comment on the appalling short "When We Are Big"? This is the only time I've ever heard a film actually booed, at Telluride. It's hard for me to understand how this could have been selected (and many people I ran into said the same thing).

Telluride Review: Little Children {Cinematical}

Sep 5th 2006 3:09AM "Little Children" is called that because (I believe) all of the adults act like children. I can't agree that it's at all representative of the ordinary lives of ordinary people, who are far more mature, on average, than any of the (adult) characters here.

Belle Terre Estate, Estate of the Day {Luxist}

Aug 28th 2006 4:53PM Tacky is the word for it!
