John McCain's wife Carol raised their three sons while he was in Vietnam. Carol got into a terrible car accident [ went thru the windshield] and became totally disabled. John meanwhile was out shopping around getting a new honey lined up. With no money & a disabled wife; he was going no where. He divorced Carol, and married liquor heiress Cindy Heresley. Nice family values there John.
