Do We Need New Baby Name Etiquette? {ParentDish}

Jun 20th 2010 2:28PM My name (Jacky) and my husband's name (Tod) are spelled in non-traditional ways. We spent our entire childhoods having to defend the spelling of our names to adults and other kids. It may not seem like a big deal to a parent that chooses to spell their child's name creatively, but it will be a big deal to their child. Which is why our kids names are very traditional, and easily spelled. I wouldn't wish what we experienced (and our names are pretty tame on the scale of creativity) on any child. We know plenty of people with easily spelled common names that chose bizarre spellings for their children, because they have no idea what they're in for.

Oscars 2010 Show Review: Decent, But What a Drag {Moviefone Blog}

Mar 8th 2010 6:53PM It was a joke. Clooney and Baldwin were faking a spat as a joke.

Oscars 2010 Show Review: Decent, But What a Drag {Moviefone Blog}

Mar 8th 2010 6:51PM I have to beg to differ. First off, the Clooney/Baldwin thing was planned, Clooney was not being uptight/bored/etc... as many people have surmised. I thought Baldwin and Martin were terrific. I could have done without the Neil Patrick Harris opening, and without the dance number (although those dancers really were amazing). But overall, I was pretty happy with the show.

Doggie Diaries: A Cat Person Reconsiders {Pawnation OLD}

Mar 8th 2010 6:41AM Dogs are much more work (especially in the beginning), but can be much more generous and less moody than cats. Our dog Angus and our cat Lucky will never be friends. It took us a while to accept that, but accepting it has made our lives easier. They give each other a wide berth, and coexist peacefully, which is enough for me!

What Movie(s) Have You Walked Out Of? {Cinematical}

Mar 5th 2010 3:03PM OH! And Boxing Helena! I WISH I had walked out of that movie. That ending made me SOOOOO mad!!!

What Movie(s) Have You Walked Out Of? {Cinematical}

Mar 5th 2010 2:15PM I think the movie you're thinking of is Master of Disguise, and that's Dana Carvey, not Martin Short.

What Movie(s) Have You Walked Out Of? {Cinematical}

Mar 5th 2010 1:56PM I really wanted to walk out of Alvin and Chipmunks 2, the Squeakuel. My daughter had begged me to take her, I refused, so she saved the money to take us both. Darnit. The first ten minutes of that movie was so high pitched I wanted to cover my ears and run from the theater. Complete garbage. How do they get decent actors to make such crap? Must be some good paychecks.

The only moved I've actually walked out was Pocahontas. BORING. And so far from actual history. I don't mind if they screw up an old fairy tale, but when the person actually existed, they should get the main details correct. Dumb movie. Even my kids hated it.
