Feb 18th 2011 7:37PM Where on earth do these studies come from? If a woman works, it is because a woman has to work for extra cash, no matter what anyone says. Any one of us working mothers would love to be home, and finally able to tackle the never ending cooking, cleaning, and laundry, that is always there, regardless if we are employed or not. Contrary to popular belief, there are also still many women who come home from work and start dinner, to ensure the family has a home cooked meal. Of course, once or twice a week could certainly mean a pizza or Subway, but it doesn't have to be junk food because we work. A mother is a mother, regardless. Kids first, no matter what. Our up bringing is also an influence as to how we raise our own children. I live in an upper middle class neighborhood, and I can probably say that most of these women in this sub are employed. Yet, we all have strong, well rounded children, stricly based on a foundation of love and support. All these woman come home and run from piano, to soccer, or to wherever they need to go, and yet still manage a meal on the table. During the warm summer nights most of these parents are outside either bike riding, walking with their children, or some sort of family activity. I think this speaks for the majority of the American household today, unless this survey was conducted in the ghetto somplace..

Apr 18th 2010 8:19PM First of all, no, the money isn't great for a garden center employee any more than it is for a cashier..the majority of those retailers that have garden centers hire employees in at minimum wage, just like any employee would, aside from management. If you love nature, you will love the garden center...Let us remember that the garden center, and every department of a major retailer, is strictly about customer service..These employees are all over worked and extremely under paid, and in case most haven't noticed, these places are all under staffed...you'll be lucky to find 2 to 3 employees, not 10, in any department.
