Entelligence: Why the pen isn't mightier than the keyboard {Engadget}
Jul 13th 2009 2:20PM I've been scouring the internet for a decent tablet PC (or Mac tablet) for about a week now. I'm an animator in the entertainment biz, so I guess I'm in the niche market. I would like to use Maya (3d anim), Mudbox (3d sculpting) and Photoshop (texturing) all on the same computer. The perfect combo would be something that has a fast video card (nVidia) and pen input or as Wacom calls it "penabled". Currently there is only ONE product out there that has these specs and it's serious $$$$$. I don't feel right about dropping $5000 for a Mac laptop that has been converted to a tablet (Axiotron Modbook http://www.axiotron.com/index.php?id=modbookpro) but at least i know the technology is there and it can be done!
Graham Chronofighter Oversize Overlord Mark Four Watch {Luxist}
Jun 30th 2009 7:50PM I was just in a luxury watch shop in Seattle, WA. I saw some of these Chronofighters in the case and they are awesome looking. I was completely ready to drop $900 on the model I wanted but the salesman said they're "not that sturdy".. and "not very rugged".. and "i wouldn't take this underwater"... So, I'm guessing these watches aren't built to last? I ended up buying a much cheaper Luminox watch that he advised would probably last longer. Can anyone that has owned one of these confirm this? I love the looks of these watches but not willing to part with $1000 if the watch behaves like a $100 replica.
