The Minor Threat: Age-Restricted Communities Evicting Children {AOL Real Estate}

Jan 8th 2012 5:51PM I have a compromised immune system and try to stay away from kids because they carry disease they haven't built up immunity to. Every time I fly I get sick, so I don't fly any longer. I live in a age restricted community because I don't want kids around. Simple as that. I love kids and would like to have them around but it just doesn't work for me. The grandparents who have the child in an age restricted community should move. They knew what the rules were before they purchased a home and the rules shouldn't change simply because their circumstances have changed. It seems like there is always someone who thinks the rules don't or shouldn't apply to them.

The Country's Biggest Tourist Trap: South of the Border {Gadling}

Jul 18th 2011 5:46PM Sure seems to be a lot of hateful people. Paul Brady, the author of this piece apparently isn't allowed to have an opinion. Hey folks, he writes for a living. If he calls them like he seems them thats what he writes. At least thats what I do.

Now if you like the place thats your opinion. I've never been to the place, but I do travel a lot and I do stop at all sorts of tourist traps because I meet some interesting folks and I might get a story out of stopping. Most of the tourist traps are run down, dirty and in need of paint and repairs. Doesn't matter to me what they need. I'm just there for the story nothing else. I never eat in those kinds of places and I never buy souvenirs. I travel in an rv so cook my own food and don't have places to store junk.

The truth is, most tourist traps started out to be either a restaurant or a gas station. They probably weren't doing well because they served bad food or had a bad location. In most cases, they used their creativity and came up with a way to get people to stop and spend money. If your looking for anything more than a place to get separated from your money your most likely going to be disappointed.

It doesn't matter whether or not you liked the place, if you stopped there, and spent money they did what they wanted to do. Separated you from your money.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FP7: New Digital Camera Whitens Teeth, Erases Wrinkles and Applies Makeup {Stylelist (Main)}

Mar 23rd 2011 2:12PM Get a life to the naysayers who think its "fakey" to manipulate an image. Just what do you think professional photographers do? They use their equipment to make their subjects looks a good as possible. Any photographer worth his/her salt can do more with their equipment than some amateur shutterbug with their $200 Lumix. , the However, the Panasonic line has some of the best computer assisted features going for it without the beauty aids. Then again, Princess Lory with her 11:55 comment thinks its smarter to spend $1100 on a Nikon to do the same thing. Guess it all depends on what your wants and needs are as well as if you have the the deep pockets to get a great smile.

Think Twice: Teen Fined $2900 for Illegally Downloading a Movie {Just So You Know}

Feb 28th 2011 9:00AM As far as I am concerned the bible is a lie. If that is what I want to believe that is my business. What makes this country great is that I can believe anything I want and you can believe anything you want. I don't want religion stuffed down my throat like the right wing continues to do with their moralizing about anything and everything.

Best Outback Favorites {Slashfood}

Jan 31st 2011 9:30AM I travel a lot and when I get the chance I will give the Outback a try. It depends a lot which Outback one visits because the quality varies greatly from one city to the next. One of my very favorite Outbacks is the one in Scottsdale, Az. near the center for the arts. They prepare the same food as the rest of the chain, but its as close to gourmet food as one can get in a chain restaurant. The rack of lamb is excellent as is the steak and shrimp combo.

Bikers finally get the rear-view camera they deserve {Translogic}

Jan 22nd 2011 3:33PM It's a great idea if it's used correctly. All one needs is a quick glance at the screen to see if there is trouble brewing behind the bike. I can't turn my head far enough to the side to see behind me because of a war injury. It will work for me. In fact, I am tempted to order one of the $49.95 back up cameras from ebay and install it on my bike. Even a small battery will provide the needed juice and a small solar cell will keep it charged.

Used to be able to buy a small generator that provided jucie to lights. Wonder if they are still available. Anyone have any ideas where they might be found?

Health Hazards Festering in Your Sheepskin Winter Boots {Stylelist (Main)}

Jan 20th 2011 2:07PM I live in N central MN where the temps can drop way below zero. The coldest I have seen my thermometer is a minus 50 degrees. Believe me when I tell you that I use my sheepskin lined boots whenever I need to spend long periods of time outdoors.

I also wear a pair of heavy wool stockings inside my sheepskin lined boots and I have never experienced any kind of foot problems. I aways make sure my boots air out after I wear them and in the spring and fall I rub in a little neat's-foot oil on the outside of the boots and they will last for years without any problems. Just a little back woods common sense and you can tell the podiatrist where to go.

Top 10 money jerks {WalletPop}

Oct 13th 2010 9:39AM The biggest moocher of all is US govt. Hang on to your wallets folks, inflation is here. It won't be long before you see prices increase by 25% and then a few more weeks and it will happen again.

Keep in mind it is the little people that get hurt by inflation not the richest 1% that get 60% of the income of the entire nation. Not to mention that the Republicans think that the richest 1% need income tax relief.

Everyone that thinks the Republicans work for the rich raise your hands. Thanks but the Dems aren't much better at least there are a few fiscal conservatives called the blue dog Dems who at least try to keep spending down. Funny thing is, they don't get support from the Republicans who claim to be fiscal conservatives.

At 18, She's Already on Her Third Business {AOL Small Business}

Jul 10th 2010 10:59AM I'm an old guy now at 66 years and proud of it. I say to the young lady "GO FOR IT". Don't listen to the naysayers. There will always be the doom and gloom crowd who will say something won't work. They will always be on the sidelines because they are the watchers and not the "doers"

I started working when I was 13 and had to hitchhike 7 miles every day to get to work. I learned how to manage money and stay safe since I never knew who was going to give me a ride. What I earned in the summer paid for my clothes and school supplies not to mention spending money for the entire year. In the 1960s we had to pay for our own school books. It wasn't until the 70s that the courts said the school districts had to pay for the school books. I wish her the best. Kids now days have it just as tough as we did. There will always be the lucky kids who don't have to work because Daddy will pay for everything. Thats the way the world works. Always has and always will.

TSA Proposes Device That Tracks Cell Phones, Wait Times {AOL Travel News}

Mar 25th 2010 11:09PM In my opinion, TSA are doing what they can with the tools they are given. They have taken a large number of firearms and knives from travelers who claimed they forgot they were in their bags.

Who knows how many if any of these people were up to no good and would have tried something if they had been permitted to board with a firearm. Yet the complainers grip about everything the govt. does and ignores big business

The health insurance industry has killed thousands by pulling coverage for any number of bogus reasons. Just wait until it happens to you or a close family member. You think you have all the bases covered and then bang, no health insurance just when you need it most.

Even worse is the banking industry. After getting trillions in loans, stock arrangements and outright grants, they should be on their knees thanking the American taxpayers for their bailouts. Yet they spit in our collective eyes by failing to follow the exisitng laws when foreclosing delinquent mortgages. On the other hand they collect nearly 500 billion a year in late fees, and other charges from delinquent payments. Thats nearly a half a trillion dollars. You wonder where they get the money to give out multi million dollar bonuses to first year stock traders?

We have more to fear from the business community than big govt. We can always elect new politicans to replace the existing bunch, but we don't have that option with big business. They have the resources to run huge public relation campaigns without the public's knowledge, designed to convince the public of whatever they desire. The public buys whatever they are told. Thats why it is so important to learn how to think for yourself. Don't buy what the politicans are telling you or the talking heads on the nightly news. Above all don't bother listening to the political pundits who think they know all and claim to speak for the working men and women of this country. Above all, these pundits who make many millions of dollars a year speaking not only for big business but for political interests. They are accountable to absolutely no one yet like the pied piper have millions of followers of people who don't know how to think for themselves.

Anyone with any measurable amount of intelligence can listen and find serious wholes in the philosophy of these pundits. All one has to do is listen with an impartial ear and start making decisons on their own.
