Jan 11th 2011 2:11PM Taking away a parent's driver's licence for their child's truancy is an ineffective beaurcratic consequence. I agree we must instill the importance of education to all parents. Children with chronic absences can't keep up with the curriculum demands and quickly fall behind, become frustrated, and often end up dropping out of school. Resource officers have been cut from our budgets. We must communicate the importance of education to all parents, but taking away their driver's license only adds to the negative impression and will not produce the desired results.

Jun 23rd 2010 1:03PM I enjoyed Connor's performance. This performance was a self-reflective expression of feelings. We must embrace our youth when they practice a way to express themselves in non-violent means. It took a lot of practice to fly the kite to the music. I wonder if there is a story behind the selection of the song and the reason the kite was used as an expression of his feelings.

Parenting styles can provide insight to the parent's character so I enjoy seeing politicians with their children. Children have a way of keeping the atmosphere real and honest. So bring in the children. However, the children's behavior or images should not be used in any way that is degrading to the child.
